Does music relieves pain in your heart or brings back the memory?

I love music! That's why i work as a musician. But many times even if i'm not thinking of someone, when i hear a certain music it brings back the memory. sometimes, it made me smile for a while and sometimes it reminds me of the heartache i've felt. But most of the times that my heart is in pain, when i hear any music, it relieves every pain in me. That is why i love music, and i can't quit for my job as a musician. even if i want to...

hi! it depends on the music i listen to, because if i listen to some really sad ballad like Nickelback's "Far away" i think the pain will come back, but if I listen to some funny and rhythmical song i think it will help me to overcome it

It depends on what you listen to. There always songs that really let you down. But there is always some music that really cheer you up. I also feel that sensation of my heart being in pain, and Kaiser Chiefs, and Pete Doherty are really helping me on this time haha. Playing music always bring relax , well, in my opinion. I use to compose a lot of music when im down, its like my most creative time.

Music is my first love, and it will be my last, music of the future and music of the past. Music can evoke so many emotions, good and bad. Certain songs bring certain memories, music can soothe and ease your pain, music can lift you up and give you an energy boost. My partner is a guitarist and song writer, some of his material makes me cry, other pieces make me laugh - I would be lost without music

Once in a while there is a song that brings back something really sad and makes me cry. But usually music makes me happy.

I too also love music, for me It more depends on the music I hear, when it date back when I was still young It always brings back the happy memories I experience when I was young but when it comes to reliving the pain inside me like from problems and stresses in life JAZZ is the music for me when it comes to reliving pain, also it helps me relax from a hard days work. I cant remember if I had any music that brings out the pain within me, all of my life Ive been happy with only little problems and pains in life but I used to moving on and be happy about it. Music always makes me happy and feel good inside. ^ ^

Music it's a really powerful thing. I can make you dream, make you smile, make you happy, make you cry and sad, bring back memories or make you think of someone, beat your heart faster and many other things. I love music really much, and I have to listen to it at least every day otherwise I'll miss it. Most of the times it will bring back some old memories and they are not always happy ones. It happened once that a song lost between the 100's tracks on my ipod came up and started playing, it immediately reminded of when I listened to it and I was dreaming about something, it came out and so did tears ( I don't cry easily) I was disappointed by that dream and thinking of how happy I was about it made me sad :/

Music has helped me deal with emotional pain many times. It has been the thread from which I hang my sanity. I don't think my emotional and mental health would have stayed this normal if not for music.

I agree that some songs bring back the memories. That's why I hate listening to break up songs because it just reminds me of my first boyfriend I loved so much. :( Especially when the exact song is being played and then I remember the time he sang the same song for me. I don't like remembering those times because it's been five years already. We're both good now though I haven't found another guy who could replace him yet that's why when I'm reminded by him with those songs I usually shift my thinking or play dance songs instead.

Hi there roscelcruz! Just like you, i'm pretty much a music lover although i'm not associated with any band whatsoever. you're absolutely right that music really relieves our souls from everyday stress. it also helps us reminisce or bring back the good old days, however good or bad those memories are. no wonder music is the language of the soul. in case you wanna know, i love almost all music genre especially the 80's music. so "how do you keep the music playing"? http://www.mylot.com/?ref=bananarepublica

Both it relieves pain and brings back memory of the past, especially if the music has a memory to treasure and memory which you doesn't want to recall, after all music is what sometimes and some people need to express what they feel inside. Happy lotting.

Am sorry to hear this when it comes from a musician... Music does hit the heart directly cause it plays on our emotions, and that's the reason why we get so hooked by certaing songs and not others, being the lyrics or the rhythm, they can both easily drive you to a state of mind you could have experienced before and so also bring back the joy or pain that goes with it. That is very normal. But when I hear it coming from a musician, it sounds sad to me. cause I cannot bare in mind to have another less good musician in the world. This world was made for music and for art. Eventhough both of these cathegorese of people tend to be more sensitive then the rest, they have to be the strongest to survive, for the world needs you and your music!!!

yes of course especially when i am all alone listening to music. they really would lift my spirit up or sometimes they would tend to go with the situation you are currently in. one of the best musician that would really make my heart and mind spin round is Taylor Swift. Though most of her songs genre is a country song yet i could still get the message she wants to convey.

You got it Baaaad! I've yet to sit down and learn to play an instrument-never tried pushing my self expression that way,or felt the urge to let it out..(though singing is an area I could explore..) That's what Music is all about..channelling what you have inside for others to feel, empathise,or understand, and to Move them..or their feet,at least! A Group I grew up listening to and seeing Live in my late teens reached a critical moment in their 10 years of gigging and touring in the early 80's-management,record deal issues, and their music rights were key factors, and they broke up..Some tribute bands have kept their music alive, one of them getting the members together again on stage quite recently, and the result was a comeback tour..I bought tickets, and they rocked the Joint in December last! One of their "for Fun" Album Numbers was a tribute to the Beatles played in a Beatles Style, called surprisingly,"Come Back,Beatles"! That song was always in my mind hoping for THEIR comeback..now realised! Thanks,HORSLIPS!!

Yes,Music does.Whenever I'm in pensive mood,it's Robert miles' Fable that alleviates the pain and pops a ray of hope.Whenever I'm happy, want to dance wild, there is Macarena.Whenever I'm in Love yet to express,it's Hello.Music has so much diversity that it can relate to every feeling of your heart. For each mood, there you'll find a music or song that is able to tune in the same cord at that moment.Even, when you want to remember some memory or somebody who is not near to you, you'll always find there is a masterpiece ready to take you to a joy ride without any displacement of your body.

It really depends on what song your listening to. I too is very affected with secondhand serenade's and taylor swift's songs. It makes you think of memories you once had may it be good or bad. I think that this could bring a smile unto your face. why? ONce in your life you have loved someone more than you could imagine and you had done silly things just to bring them back or let them go. Just get inspired because music is a fruit of the soul. It brings back pain yes, but don't get to hard on yourself!

What a beautiful discussion! Music ... you remind me of childhood days. the poem "Pied Piper of Hamlin" When the children cry we sing lullaby and rock the cradle and the child is consoled so as to sleep in calm... You switch on the radio....music... children adults old all lean to listen Music.....stimulates the brain waves, our past memory gets awakened, as per the tone of the music, so is our emotion, cry laugh pitch the beat with rhythm ....music stimulates to dance....music stimulates to show love and affection... music animates recreation. music for the celebrations....music to attract the crowd.... music to attract the attention of the students.... human beings, animals, plants all that exists listen to the music... the vibrations of the music has the power to make the blood circulate properly , to stimulate the heart beat with balanced rhythm. The flower parks, the pleasant music enchant everyone God, angels and the human creatures!!!!!

it goes both ways for me if it's a good song and reminds me of someone who was close to me at one time it saddens me a little, but at the same time it lifts my spirit, like when couples have a song that they dedicate to one another, then they break up and the song is ruined ...i try not have a song for my lover
