to calm your mind.........

What do you do to calm your mind or when you are all stressed up or in bad mood or in anger or in no mood at all? drink a glass of water and try to keep cool? or sit in a quiet place & meditate? or take some activity like painting, some hobby? or do you go to the sea shore and watch the waves? what do you do? or call up friends or..............?

I run myself a nice hot bath filled with lavender scented bubbles and try concentrating on deep breathing to calm and clear my mind. It works wonders for me!

I like to listen to music, it really takes me into a different place and calms me down. Deep breathing will occasionally work, or sometimes mindless television in which I don't have to constantly think about my problem and sometimes it's nice to watch something where peoples problems are worse than my own. I do a few things, but usually music works the best, and sometimes I will listen to music and read a good book and by the time I am done reading a few pages I forgot what I was so stressed about. Of course you can't completely forget about your problems because a lot of the time they are an on going problem like for me this week writing a paper for my comp class, but taking time to occasionally relax and listen to music it helps before I need to get back to work on my paper, and it makes the writing process flow a little easier.

Hi sissy I normally do listen to music while I am upset and travelling - otherwise I sit in a quiet place after drinking water and try to meditate at least for a short time till normalcy returns- it is really difficult to concentrate initially when you r upset!!

me?? i just take a bath to cool my whole system spending lots of time in my bathroom thinking of many things..another is i always find a place that is quite and calm, obvously to calm my mind..hehe

I just memorize my past Nostalgia into my mind...also ill take a deep breath..and ill do chatting in the net when my mind is disturbed..also often ill go to movies in order to calm my mind...In order to gain concentration i use 2 mediate for 10-20 minutes..den i'll set free..

Well i normally would call up a few of my very good friends and ask them to accompany me to the library so that we can calm our minds and at the sme time help me think of solutions to the problems that are causing me stress. Cheers! :)

Good LOUD music usually helps along with a nice LOOOONNNGGGG walk. Im talkin like a 2-3 hour walk. Or i will get into my car and just drive for awhile and blast a good song..

Whenever, I am in a bad mood, I mostly try to listen to some music or watch t.v. so that I can calm myself and even I try to play games as it relaxes my mind. If I am in no mood, then sometimes I try to call up my friends for fun and just cheer up!!

every time my mind disturbed which i really cant help specially every night before i sleep. i just listen to instrumental music, turn off the light and lay on my bed. i found meditation music in you tube like the sounds of rain drops, the sounds of birds and movement of trees in the forest, even the splash of waves. when i heard them i find them very relaxing while your room is dark. i downloaded them to my computer and play it whenever i need peace in mind.

One of the things that I do is I enter my room and just close the door behind me. Hopefully no one will bother me. I sit back in my chair and just kick back and relax. Just sit there, take a couple of calming breaths, as I just have a few moments for myself. What I do from there, it could be one of many things. One thing that I am fond to do when my mind needs calming is to put some music on. Music tends to relax me a lot. It tends to take me out of the pressures of the real world and causes me great piece of mind. The same can be said about reading a good book. Also, playing a computer game is not something to ignore. Any of these things can help me calm down and not be so mad.

Whenever you catch up with a bad mood,you know,you are focussed with a particular kind of thought and this sort of concentration takes out a lot of energy without giving anything fruitful.So what you need to do is to switch to some other job or thing that produce some fruit and the energy should be utilized properly.Otherwise you will be mentally down.Now it up to you which kind of job interests you.It may be anything you mentioned.What you need is to have some satisfaction or some kind of appraisal out of your work so that you become mentally elevated.And you have to do the job of your interest continuously so that the focus on the negative event is completely diverged.This is a pure mind game.Whatever activity you take up,your mind should be completely engrossed into that.Otherwise nothing will help.If you are not done with any kind of activity you mentioned,just go for a RUN or DRIBBLE,because that is a physical activity.I think,the physical movement or exercise will take your mind out of the situation and the exertion will give you no time to think about the ill experience that has taken up your mind.

when i'm upset, i prefer to be alone. sometimes i go out and find a cool place to sit because my place has trees in the surrounding so i relax myself until i calm down and get back for a good conversation with the person who upset me.

The other ways is counting up to ten. If you still think your angry go out and get a drink so that you won't have to hurt each other again. I think that compromise is also a way to calm things down. When it comes to stress, the best thing to do is go to sleep. In that way you could forget what a stressful day it was and rest your body.
