For you, what does being independent means to you? Does it means 100 percent of being on your own? What do you like being independent?

Yeah, you're right it's quite impossible to live our life with complete independence,as we always needs other to get along. A human can live alone but always depend with other creature. Anyway thank you for sharing with us an enjoy your weekends!

To me independence means to be mentally independent which means you must come up with an alternative plan if something doesn't work out.Suppose you want to get back home by bus but if you find a road block you detour. If you have only a single plan then you become dependent and you will start asking GOD for a help to mature the plan. No,why torturing GOD with the things that you can do all by yourself? And that's the whole point of being independent. There are some situations in your life when you must have to depend upon your fellow colleagues. For example let's take the case of supervising a company or a country. In this case you've to manage the occasional riots in some remote part because the minister/controller fails to handle the public issue. So what you need to do is to look for another person who is an expert in handling the issue. Here independent is other term of having another plan.It depends upon the situation.Let's see whether you like it!

Very well said yoursjannat, I can't disagree with you. Being independent could depends on the situation. Being independent means being able to do on your own, having the will to do what is right and good. Being able to look after your self and having the ability to initiate. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your weekends!

Hey careguarden! Being independent is a wonderful feeling! I
have been living on my own now for more than half my life and
I just love it! I am now living with my boyfriend for almost
2 and 1/2 years, but it is my apartment and I pay most of the
bills! The money he gives me is not even half of the rent! It
gives me a chance to buy the extra things that I want for the
apartment, like trying to save for new carpet (if I ever can)!
I was able to buy a new bed, with the money he gave me and
some other things that I needed! But, now things are different
and my money is not going for things like that anymore since
now I am disabled! But, I am proud to say that I have been
independent most of my life!

For me, independent mean everything that i want to do can do it. Free to study, free to talk, free to love, etc. Independent but limited by rule.
