Hi everyone, I was watching a late show from the Extreme Makeover Home Edition and it got me teary eyed. It was about one mother's hope of finding her lost daughter. Her daughter went missing for a number of years already and she has not yet given up hope that she would find her. What was remarkable about this woman is that she turned her pain into something good which is creating social awareness about missing children and how to protect your children from being kidnapped and what every parent must do when their child goes missing. They placed a campaign inside the malls telling every parent to have their child finger printed and update photos every 2-3 months and all these information is filed into the country's database and it would be easier to find your child if they go missing. Have you had your child fingerprinted yet? Updated pictures? If no, I ask you to, not that I'm thinking your child could be kidnapped but to serve as measures if in case the unthinkable happens. The number of missing kids is growing everyday, some are found and some are not. Let's all help in creating an awareness and let's help protect our children!

This is a helpful discussion. I am a parent too and I dont want my kid to be kidnapped or something that I wont be able to see her again. We dont do fingerprinting every 2-3 months here but because of our technology today its easy to take someone's photo using our camera phones and we have a lot of that. In malls, we teach our daughter not to go far, she's turning 5 years old next month, and she understand what we want her to do. We see to it that she's always near and we can see her whenever she wants to leave her seat in restaurants. We should always have to take care of our precious ones because they are God's gift to us. Hope that woman find her kid soon so she could be happy.

I'm glad you are taking precautions against kidnapping and I hope that all parents do too. I don't think that when my mom told me to stay away from strangers when I was a child was bad. I know that some psychologists over the years said that it creates a certain kind of negative attitude towards other people, but I think its better to be safe than sorry. P.S have you read the book called "The Shack" by William P. Young? I hope you read it it is a very good book, it's about a father who lost her youngest child on a camping trip. I won't say more or I'll kill the thrill. Hope you have a lovely time with your family.

No I haven't read the book yet. Actually my husband is the one who is very precautious on things like these. He's very careful with our child and I am the one who gives our child the time of her life to explore things. Hope every parent are aware like this because I know its already a parent's instinct to take care of their children.
