The battle begins. The fever is in doubling the El Nino threat. Election 2010, are we all ready?
Pros and Cons arises for the first ever automated election.
Handa na ba talaga tayo in general. Isang tanong lang. Kaya ba ng COMELEC ihandle ito gayung sila mismo hindi pa.

hi there lienrose, I think we are not definitely ready for the automation.. we are not ready because the comelec itself is not ready. they are not organize, supposedly as a standard procedure knowing that philippines is not that tecky as other countries, comelec must have make a move a year ago when there is still so much time to teach, to learn and share, to learn..
I just hope this coming election may 2007 will went well, but I think this could be the most chaotic election we will experience.
we still have el nino problem but our government officials are much concern with election... I hate them all

I think it is about time that we Filipinos would adopt an automated system and not stick to the traditional manual counting because it has not been perfected to date that we still have widespread fraud and manipulations everywhere.
In the automated election we can expect a much faster and accurate counting of votes. It may not be the perfect solution but at least we are trying to make it better and supposed cleaner election. I think we should give it a try. The El Nino threat is really getting worst. I have visited UP diliman and saw the once green fields getting drier and yellow. The once green place is now most yellow and dry. Well it should not affect the election although the threat of dry spell to generating the election.

whatever happens, let it be. But what is at stake is the same stake the Filipinos had in the previous elections. It's always about cheating, manipulating, and all anomalies that can happen in an election. The voters are not really worried as to their capability to (use the machine to) vote, although the people may not feel it at the moment. What they are concerned most is that some groups might use these machines to advance their hidden motives, which is very difficult to figure out on the side of the general public.

I think it's about time that our elections be automated. Even though we are ready for this kind of election, I feel that people who are not informed on how to use this automated stuff would have a hard time in voting. I think that the COMELEC lacks in those parts. Also, we are not sure if our current president would try and sabotage the election because she wants to stay on her position

I think the questions shouldn't be about our readiness or COMELEC's readiness. I think it should be "What are we or COMELEC (is) doing to be ready for Philippine's first ever automated election.
I'd like to think positive that the automation would work and Filipinos would participate in making it work.
Have you learn every thing about it now? Do you now know how the election would be conducted?
I always heard many Pinoys saying that automated election would be difficult for them since they know nothing about computers. When in fact we don't have to know anything about computer to participate in the election. We only need our pens just like the old times. This time it's easier, just like doing multiple choice question. Pick one and you're done.
