If looks is your main reason for buying one why not just have a picture? I am an Apple addict but I really don't know about the iPad. It's great engineering and design but there's no camera - so therefore no video conferencing etc. The solid state Hard Drives are still very small to be of much use. Personally I will wait a year or so and see how they adapt it.

That's one way to get a free Ipad, get a picture :). Well that's not really my main reason but design is a big one for me. I'm an apple addict as well, in fact I worked for Apple Canada as Technician and I was there when they first introduce the first Imac. Well about the camera, there's actually a rumor going around that apparently some people was able to see a snipet of lines of codes that refers to camera characteristics. Also I read somewhere that Apple apparently posted in there career section that they are looking for QA Engineer in the iPad division to test still, video and audio capture and playback. Now why the camera will not be included in the release? only they know. But I think it will follow as an upgrade or something.

Stick a camera on it and they will queue even further round the block than they will anyway! I do a lot of Skyping and wouldn't entertain a camera less computer of any type now.

Yes I would; why? so I can have my very own computer for one, music station, personal reference whatsoever you want to call it. I would have it. I just bought a laptop two months ago and my kids stay on it more than me but with the Ipad, I can have my music, books, and can't be bothered. All I have to say is I'm reading on here and that's that!!!

However, I don't mind saying that in spite of the Ipad, I'd still have a Kindle. no matter what. I still will.

No way!! I considered it for a minute, since my laptop is falling apart, and a tablet would be nice (no hinge!) but then I read a really great article in Newsweek about it, and decided against it. I bought an iPod touch instead. The iPod touch will nicely suppliment my larger computer, but an iPad and nothing but, would not do at all. I am not interested in a larger computer that only works from one store (have to do EVERYTHING in Apple, can't play flash videos, etc). The iPod touch is ideal since I want a pocket-sized music machine that can store all my tunes, but the iPad is too big for me to use for anything BUT a personal computer, and as a personal computer, I would find it way too limited, so NO, I am not going to buy an iPad.

I don't think I'll buy an iPad, though I think it's cool and convenient. As I am a software developer that build softwares on Microsoft platforms, hence I don't think I'll get an Apple computer. Also, as I am so used to type using the keyboard, using the touchscreen may not be easy for me to do the coding and designing. If I am just using the computer for browsing net or reading, I think it's quite convenient to use an iPad.

Definitely not, at least till next year. They've already got some really good features in iPhone 4 that they will most likely implement in the next iPad, which are worth waiting for.
