Everywhere we see that most of the people are running after a secured job that will fetch them a handsome paycheck at the end of the month and will satisfy there need to have a decent lifestyle. However, what they tend to forget is that what may appear a dream job today may turn out to be a nightmare tommorrow. At the same time a job is killing their instinct to try other options to augment their income and if we look at the salary structure of different firms we will find that there is a mismatch between the salary obtained and the current market prices. The prices are always more than the salary obtained.A self employed do not possess any such hardship. They can increase their income with increase in price rise and they are in a better position to fulfill all their needs without compromising. What do you think?

I am self employed and love it. But it does certainly have its trouble. Sometimes it is hard to find clients. You do not get the time off paid like you would from a regular job. There is also collecting your pay that can take a lot of time and effort.

There are lot of hardships that is associated with the life of a self employed.Sometimes just like you most of them feel that it would have been better if they had gone for a paid job. However, the kind of freedom that one enjoys being self employed is huge, it can't be measured. So friend don't give up and don't allow the negative influences bog you down.

I can see you are in favor of being self-employed. You may perhaps think that a fixed job is likely to make people lose their interest in trying other different jobs as the longer time they are engaged in a fixed job, the less courage they will have for risks. For me, however, being self-employed and having fixed job have their respective advantages. Being self-employed means you'll have more freedom and you don't need to follow the orders of others. You can decide when and where to work without worrying about being fired. Having a fixed job means you have to follow strictly certain rules as violation may make you lose your job. Different persons have their own choices.

hi there! with our economic status nowadays, i believe it would be better if we do both. where plans and practicality set in. earning both ways could be not the best but at least one of the best strategies in coping with finances. advantage is when one messes up, there can be fall back with the other. we cannot say all the time that one is better than the other coz i believe interest and passion still count in committing either way. :)

I think that running a business has its own benefits but again that is not secured and depends on lot many factors. i am a salaried person and earning a fix amount every month and the company is making good money from their resources like me and many more. Our work is paying them better than we are paid.
My point is that in Business you work for you, profits are yours, losses are yours and after all its your business of interest and future goals.
When I am paid some x amount in a fixed job it means that the one who is paying is getting much more returns from my work so why why not work for self.
It is not easy to run a business and no guarantee that it will give you benefits only, things may turn to either way as well. So think of your abilities and willingness before you got for jib or business :)

Being self employed requires dedication with your job,to make a better income and pay more attention to your job.Being self employed expect more hardship and stress in mind thinking how will you make things works well and out with your own source of income, A self employed person must know that no ONE will know the best and no one dares to help but himself. You may someday employ someone to help you up with this but don't expect that he will do his best for you,he just doing his obligation because your paying him for that, but no one care your own but yours. And that will be the things you will do the same while getting a fixed job, your working because they are paying you,not to give your best to them.Fixed job is a security of fixed income.
Its your choice how will do feel being self employed or get a fixed job.How knowledgeable you are to manage your own and how smart you are to get a fixed job.
Happy Lotting!

I have been both,
I think most people dream of being their own boss but don't have the guts or confidence to make it happen.
They get a fixed job and earn a fixed wage and make money for the boss of the company, this is all well and good if you want a guaranteed income and the stability.
But a self employed person has the control that an employee doesn't, they can decide how many hours to work and how much income they wanna earn.
I am self employed now and I think we go to work to be able to live we shouldn't be living to work.
I also make my money work for me, over last 10 years of being self employed I save anything I could that money is now in savings and every year its building up make the money work for you.
Also make money for yourself not for your boss.

my boyfriend is self employed and has been ever since i've known him,i find it very hard,as we never really know how much he will earn month to month,we went through a stage of not having enough money to pay all the bills, then a little while ago,we had money left over every month,we never know where we stand,we can't make plans as he may get called out at the last minute, and he can't afford to take time off,as he won't get paid holiday,,i'd much rather him have a 9-5 job with a set wage every month

ita a fifty fifty thing on if being slef employed is better,it depends in my opinion on your financial status.if you have the patience and the finacial means to support being self employed by all means its great, however if you are in a balance a fixed job is more appropriate
