The world is plagued with a disease named cancer which still has no answer. Though huge amounts of money are spent on research works yet we can't get a remedy that will wipe out the disease. In fact till now all the causes of cancer haven't been discovered. There are wide and extensive research works carried out by eminent scientists of the world yet there are not any major breakthrough happening.A lot of people have lost their near and dear ones through this disease without any proper treatment and there is really very little hope of finding an answer to cancer.

Although there is not much of a cure right now but I think everything is advancing with the research. I know before treatments was very harsh and could sometimes be fatal to the patient but nowadays treatment is much safer than before. There are even those that are already in tablet form already. The ways to detect the disease has greatly improved also as there are ways to tell that in early stages which means treatment may not be very expensive and painful already. I still see that cancer cure is not yet ready in the near future as this elusive disease is still a mystery to many doctors.

Talking about cure it is still as elusive answer the current medicines available can stop at one time but then it does not assure us of a cure. Well my mother was a recipient of a medicine they were trying and so far it worked on her positively. To date she is clear from cancer cells. She has regained her health back but the doctor could not assure her of this state. She is to continue taking the medicines for free and will see how long this will be effective for her.

Well for me I stand on a neutral ground when it stands to the researchers and the pharmaceutical companies. I think they are doing their best to find a cure but, for now there is none. I believe that if there is indeed a cure for this there should be one that has made lots of money out of it already. If I have the cure and I know how to mass produce it I would sell it now and help many millions of people afflicted by it. I would not allow anyone to stop me from doing this because I know I can help many to be cured. But, for now I have not seen a hand that claimed he has the cure.

Yeah Rsa you are absolutely right. The disease if detected at an early stage does have a cure. However,a lot of people don't recognize the early symptoms and so when they finally make it to the doctor then it's too late. However, it will be a pessimistic view to say that there won't be a cure for cancer in the near future...let's all put our hands together and pray to the Almighty to enable us to discover the cure of this deadly disease. Thanks for your response.

Your post brings up a very important point in the fight against cancer! When you think of the money, world wide, that is spent annually on finding the cancer cure it becomes mind boggling. Now imagine the millions of dollars that are donated each year towards this cure, and then try to imagine the millions of Health-Care Professionals world wide, who's exorbitant life styles depend on the cure for this horrible disease Not being found. What will they all do when the invertible happens? Will they hide the cure, and cover it up to sustain their jobs and incomes? Or will they all take a pay cut (there will be no more donations), sell their million dollar homes, and move to the country to take up pig farming?

Yes, there have been vast amounts of money and research invested in this disease and there is no magic pill cure but, there is more extensive screening & public awareness so cancers are detected earlier and there are some very effective treatments in some types. giving a greater chance of survival. These are the results of that research. I have lost 2 uncles, 5 aunts, my grandfather and my dad but I have a cousin and step-granmother who have now been cancer-free for over 10 years.

I really wish a cure were found for this illness because I have relatives and friends who are suffering from cancer and the pain and sacrifices are unbearable.
