Whether it is India or America, if you are a 'no frills' person, cost of living will be minimal. In India too, the fees, etc will depend on the college chosen by your brother. The cost of living will depend on the city he will be living. If he is a meritorious student, then he will be getting subsidies. The cost will further will come down.

Cost of living here would be somewhat similar to be whats there in Indonesia.. as far college cost is concerned it differs from what and in which field one want to study.. simple graduation can be cheap as 500$ P.A while professional courses would be costlier.. depends on what brother wants to study..

It depends on the City. If staying in a Metro city then the cost will be bit more than usual. It also depends on the choice like staying alone or in Paying Guest kinda arrangement etc. If one chooses hostel then it depends on the institution and it varies. Normally, it would cost about Rs.3000 to Rs.5000 including food and staying in a hostel with good facilities. Cost of living is not so high other than that. It also helps if the staying place is nearer to the college so that the cost of traveling can be reduced. I guess, it will cost about Rs.5000 to Rs.7000 per month other than the fee for the college. No not at all India is not so costly then foreign countries and studies are too cheap out you can send your brother for further studies my dear friend.
