I have the neutrogena liquid foundation, but it doesn't work too well. You see people sometimes and their foundation makes their skin look SO good and healthy, and it covers flawlessly. I don't have extreme acne but I use it to cover up pimples and sometimes even then it doesn't work too well. I like the fact that it is light and feels moisturizing, but it doesn't have as good a coverage as I'd like.
Do I need to add on more products, or should I just switch it to another kind. What are some good liquid foundations..

Four years ago, I tried mineral make up and I loved it so much that I've never gone back to liquid. The thing that I like best is that it feels so light. I have very sensitive skin and this is one of the few products that I can use without worrying about break outs.

It stays on until I take it off. I've fallen asleep a couple of times at night and didn't take it off and when I wash my face in the morning, I can see the minerals on the wash cloth. I used Bare Minerals. They have a starter kit that I think runs around $25 which includes foundation, bronzer, sealer and a brush. I bought that initially to make sure that I would like it. A couple of times when I needed make up and wasn't able to get up to the mall, I bought TruBlend which I think is a Cover Girl product. It's much less expensive and I pretty much get the same results.

I thought Maybellines Mineral Power foundation was a good inexpensive foundation. I also really like thier concealer. Make sure you always buy from a place that has a return policy where if you don't like it after you try it you can return it with your receipt and get your money back. That way you can try different things without going broke. Finding the right foundation is the hardest thing as far as makeup goes. I've never met a women who has'nt tried dozens in the search for the right one. Hopefully you won't have to go through that many. I'm now using Jane Iredale mineral powder which I like quite well, very expensive, though. But I still use the Maybelline Mineral Power every once in awhile. I mix it with my moisturiser so it's more like a tint. Good Luck.

The maybelline mineral power is liquid. They also have a powder version too. I thought they both worked well. The Jane Iredale foundation I'm using now is powder and it does have good staying power. I have to take a little brush and apply extra to spots where I want extra coverage. Mineral powder foundations are good because they have natural sunscreens in them and the more pure ones are less pore clogging than regular foundations. They also just feel lighter and I think it's easier to control the amount of coverage you want. I think Mineral powders are better on younger skin because sometimes they can really make lines and wrinkles stand out. The Jane Iredale was the one foundation that I did'nt have this problem with but you look like a young chickie so you could probably try many different brands with good results. Pur is one other brand I would recommend. They sell it at Ulta.

I used to use Maybelline's Pure Liquid Mineral foundation but I didn't like it all that much. It wore off my skin easily and only after an hour or two application. It also didn't sit well over blemishes or any imperfections that my skin had at the time. I also found that the colours in the Pure Liquid Mineral were hard to match to my skin and were either too light or too dark.
I ended up switching to Maybelline's Dream Satin Liquid foundation and prefer that type much better. At first I thought that it might be the same as the mineral but I found it to be much better. It stays on for ages and sits well on my skin. They also have quite a large range of colours and it's quite cheap to buy.

Some women who love the staying power or the moisturizing power or whatever property of whatever foundation that doesn't have a shade for them buy two colors of that foundation--- the color lighter than their skin tone and the color darker than theirs on the shade range--- and mix those two in order to attain just the right shade.
Anyway, it sounds like the Maybelline Dream Foundation wasn't working for you so I think you should go off on a quest to find your Holy Grail foundation. I've certainly found mine. I tried L'oreal True Match Super Blendable Liquid Foundation yesterday and while the coverage was sheerer compared to Revlon, it worked for me. So now when I'm feeling very natural and wanting to go "almost bare", I use the said product as my foundation and Revlon ColorStay Liquid Foundation as a concealer. The difference though is that the Revlon would win hands down during hot and humid weather as it seriously stays on and makes my face less oily (I went one day with the foundation on and used Essences Blotting Film in case my face got oily and one day without the foundation--- just Sue Devitt Studio Triple C-weed loose powder in Great Sandy Dessert. I saw money many oil films I used in the course of 8 hours of hospital duty when it wasn't on! But during cloudy and not so hot and humid weather, L'oreal is nice to use as it has more SPF offered than Revlon.

Actually the 'cream' style foundations cover better than the liquid ones, in my opinion. I've tried a lot of things and that's what I have found. There is 1 that I really like - one is the MAC cream/powder foundation that gives a flawless look My 21 year old daughter has been wearing it for a couple of years and it gives a beautiful finish. I also have switched to more cream foundations like Mac or Mary Kay and have found that they cover much better than liquids do.

Tats nice. I like how some foundation can just make your skin look flawless and glow. Unfortunately, I have not found one yet. Is that how MAC is? The thing is, isn't cream foundation VERY oily? I'm still a teenager, and although I do not have a lot of acne, I do not want to use an oil-based foundation to make it worse. Liquid foundations are not THAT oily, but cream foundations seem Very oily. and wat du mean by cream/powder? does it transform?

I use Revlon ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6 for Combination/Oily Skin (it's a liquid foundation). It's amazing! It stays on during the whole day and that's something since I live in a tropical country and it's hot and humid here especially during these days because summer is nearing! They also have a formula for Dry/Normal skin. It's a Holy Grail foundation for many women--- and I'm one of them. If you want to see reviews of it and see how the coverage works with other women, go to YouTube and look for reviews of this product as well as "how to put on's"... I use a concealer brush (sometimes an eyeshadow brush) in order to apply and blend this on certain areas. It's really wonderful. =D

I quite like Physician's Formula liquid mineral foundation. It blends well and the coverage is good, but it's a little pricey for me. Right now I'm just using Annabelle liquid mineral foundation and it's OK, great for the price. It's more of a light coverage but it works well under a mineral powder. Once the Annabelle stuff is gone I think I'll try Maybelline's liquid mineral foundation because I do quite like their concealer.
