Hello everyone! I know that in our lives, we get to fear some stuff or scared about things. For me for example, I find grasshoppers really scary, oh i just can't even stare at one, makes every single hair of my body stand. I'm also scared of those insects that looks like grasshoppers, oh just thinking about them really makes my hair stand. I am also afraid of the dark, like every time I;m a dark place, I just couldn't breathe at all, I know its all in my mind but I just don't know how to control such fear. what about you?

I have always been scared of something happening to my kids and not being able to do anything about it. It scares me to no end when they are off by themselves or they come home even just a few minutes late. Thank God it doesn't happen too often, and I try not to let it get the best of me, but I swear if anything happened to one or both of them I could never handle it.

I fear God, nothing else. Still many anxieties ponder around me like taking that step into the unknown, and sometimes opening up to someone I have just met and as an interest in me. Believe it or not I jumped off perfectly good airplane so that should give you how I mean this.

HI again, well thank you! I hope you are feeling well today and there is nothing to be scared about. Yes much is to concerned about in this world, but with a little faith and awareness we can all do just fine. Believe in God and have faith.

Thanks climber for that one. I have social anxiety disorder and I fear social situations and even people. But you know what I keep reminding myself the verse Joshua 1:9:
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
That helps me because I am really struggling with this fear. Thanks again.

Heights and then enclosed spaces and then not being allowed to be myself!

I went on the California Screamin' rollercoaster at Disney's California Adventure and was terrified. The next time I went, I went with a big smile on my face, eyes open, and screamed my head off. That time, it was great fun!

Have you ever tried to face your fears and challenge them to keep you from peace?

I can't recall any things that would bring about a serious fear in my heart. I am afraid of height, but I can tolerate it, unless I'm falling down from an airplane without a parachute. But there surely are some other critical situations that would scare a living a crap out of me. I mean these dangerous moments when you feel like you may lose your life or something.

I have had a new phobia lately--ergophobia (fear of work), which was cause by my traumatizing experience in my first job. From then on I feared going to work. Not about the tasks or duties, but I am afraid I am going to be rejected by my coworkers and managers. In my previous job I felt very lonely and I remember crying every night before going to bed.
I also have social anxiety disorder, or social phobia. And I am really struggling with it.
Minor ones include cockroaches, centipedes, big spiders (the big ones only) and drunk men.

I guess you could say I have a fear of reptiles. I get this really squeamish feeling whenever I see them. My husband has had a pet snake for about ten years now and I have never touched it. I used to be afraid of the dark too. Now when I go to sleep I like it as dark as I can possibly get it. I think I was afraid of the dark because in my childhood religious upbringing there was always alot of talk about Satan and his demons. So I think I always imagined them in that darkness. It's ironic that a teaching that should have brought me comfort and feelings of security brought me the exact opposite. But as I grew to adulthood I shed all those belief systems and along with it alot of my fears.

Oh yes reptiles are really scary too, I could remember one time at home, we caught this really big lizard, alligator like but more of a baby alligator. It climbed to our wall and was running after a small house lizard. We killed it and while it was on the floor, my mom kicked it and it went to me, my sister panicked, she was holding a knife that time, And she was jumping, well we were all jumping, then she accidentally stabbed the knife on my eyebrows area, it wasn't bad but it surely almost made me lose my eyes.

I'm also afraid of the dark. Especially now after I just finished watching 4 horror films. I don't know why I do that to myself. Now I can't sleep with the lights off

Hi, Mike4me. The thing that I fear the most, is being on an airplane high in the sky. And then suddenly, it starts losing control and the place crashes. I have seen and heard of too many people dying because of an airplane crash. I would never get on an airplane, I am too afraid of heights. Never me! I have heard many people say that it is nothing too it. But, I have myself convinced that this is not my cup of tea at all.

hello friend...
well, I'm not scared of the grasshoppers or anything like that..Its fine with me..as sometimes, I would love very much walking late afternoon by myself to release my tension..i don't why or how, but staying alone in the dark really helps very much in releasing my tension..the last time I done it was few days back as I was having very unlucky day in college that I went back to my room, locked myself in the room, switched off the light, and switched on the music with a very low volum & opened the window to feel the breeze of the air as it was late afternoon...
currently, the most horrible thing that I'm really scared & worried about is the exams as they are coming so very soon that I haven't started preparing coz i'm still so very much busy with my projects & presentations :(
So, my deepest fear is failure!!

I fear my girlfriend getting hurt or dying because she brings me so much joy in my life it would be terrible for me to lose her. Other then that there's not a whole lot that I fear other then my friends and family getting hurt or dying as well. I'm also scared of heights but losing people that I love is more scary then virtually anything.

i lived in a very remote and rural area when young. everyday there were frogs, butterflies, moths, bats, squirrels, rats, caterpillars, worms, birds and grasshoppers, snails, even praying mantis. the grasshoppers eat the leaves of young plants and stunted their growth. i used to catch these grasshoppers and kept them in bottles, small, medium and giant size grasshoppers. the fear factor was not there as i was used to the rustic rural life.

i'm afraid of worm-like insects, leeches, snakes, wild animals like tigers, lions, etc. other than animals and insects i'm scared of heights and also of darkness. i wasn't scared of heights before. but i'd been dreaming a lot about falling from great heights like tall buildings, hill-tops, etc. so i've developed height phobia!

i fear the unknown, that gives me frills. i really hate the unexpected to come, even though it can be in a good side i don't really want to be surprised. i may sound crazy and weird right?! i just want to be prepared at all times, thats why i hate surprises.

I am afraid of heights and darkness. Whenever I'm in a very high place like in a building I cannot look down directly below for I experience queasiness or nausea, and a shaking of my knees and if I'd look longer I fell like collapsing. Even dreams of heights result to feeling stressed upon waking up. I'm also afraid to be alone in the dark as I can't shake off the feeling that there is something or someone horrible that is hovering in the background.
