I am from Gujarat state in India, state of Mahatma Gandhiji. In the state drinking of Alcholoh is prohibited by state government. Drinking alchohol is not good for health. But I have heard people saying if u take one peg a day its good for your heart. But then problem is its difficult to control intake to one peg everyday. Better to avoid.

I feel as long as it is not overdone and the drinking is in moderation there is nothing wrong with it. Unless of course the person who wants to drink gets mean when they imbibe. Drinking ones troubles away never works. We all have worries, and they do pile up after we become adults and have to fend for ourselves. It's best to drink in a good mood than try to drown out one's worries. Have a little if you are sad to lift your spirits, that is what the bible says. But not too much nor too often lest one becomes a drunkard. ;)

Depends on how often and how much someone drinks. Some people drink to the point to where they forget their own worries and cause a lot of other people more problems than anyone had in the first place.
Drinking once in a while isn't a bad thing, as long as it's not made a daily habit of forgetting their worries.

Drinking is not good for any reasons. I been
there and done that. If you drink to forget
your worries it will not work, for when you
are not drinking they are still there. You
would have to drink all the time to forget
your worries, but they would still be there.
You just would not pay them any attention
because you are drinking. Some times this
just makes them worst.

Moderation, if you drink one drink a day, then it is OK. But if you can't stop at one, then it isn't OK.
You can forget your worries by watching a movie, reading a book, or hanging out with friends. Forgetting your worries by drinking makes you have more worries. Like DWI, DUI, family being upset because you're drunk, getting fired from work because you're drunk, etc.
