Have you ever liked something just because someone else did?

I think we all have done this from time to time; pretend to like something, even though you didn't, just because someone else did. I used to do this a lot when I first started dating because I wanted the relationship to last, and I would lie and say I would like dogs more than cats, because that person did also. Now, I learned that in the end it won't work out with a relationship like that, but it got me to thinking. Everyone does this on some level don't they? Say they like a food, because one person does and they don't want to hurt their feelings or some other reason. Have you ever done this? Lets share stories on following others. Haha.
