My boyfirend and I decided to go to work on foot in order to keep fit.It costs us about half an hour from home to company and at the first day I was really exhausted. The other problem is we look so strange while walking on the road because all the other people chose car or bicycle. However,I overcomed those problems and insist on walking for a week.My goal is to insist for one month and see whether my weight will be reduced!Haha!

It's a good form of exercise, you can burn around a hundred calories with a 30 minute walk. Be sure to bring a bottle of drinking water so you won't dehydrate yourself. Me I always go to the market on foot which is around 2 kilometers away from home. Walking is fun while sightseeing.

That's great! I wish I worked close enough to my home to do that. My job is over 17 miles away so it would take me most of the day to walk to work.

Hi, fangqin. That is a great idea! I used to walk my son to school in 2008 and I walked him to and from school. It took me about seven minutes to get him all the way to his class. And back to home. I lost 6lbs in one month from walking him to and from school. So, if I can do it, I know that you can too! If it takes just 30 minutes to get there then that is not so far to walk. But, if you feel that it is becoming too exhausting for you, it is best to slow your pace down. Good Luck on your weight loss goal!

It is definitely the best way to go to work.....provided your office is not too far to walk. Good way to stay fit, definitely.

if im working right now, i cnt imagine myself going to work just by walking as i know that when i reach thee i will smell like fish due to too much sweating and i will only feel exhausted to the point that i will rather want to rest than to work. i guess its a good idea if you go home and theres no more sun and if im with my bf so that i can just feel like were walking under the moonlight beside the seashore while exchanging sweet nothing. or perhaps if my work is just minutes away from work but if its an hour then no thanks

It is a good way for exercise.
A friend of mine often goes to work on foot, too. She is not in order to lose her weight, but simply like walking. It costs her about two and a half hours from her home to company. I greatly admire her insistence.
I hope you can keep on walking. I think you must lose your weight.

Good idea.
Walking will definitely help .
You should look more at your shape rather than your weight because your leg muscles will get stronger but you will have less fat instead.
I used to cycle to my work and it was very good for losing weight but walking is good too and if you previously didn't walk ,it will help a lot.

I think that is a really brilliant idea if only everybody in the world thought like you do we would have a better world to live in even though it already is a really good world. I hope that you keep your goal and please take my advice don't care what others do because its your life.

Good idea - such thoughts come to our mind only when we are in trouble.
It is always good to walk -but because of the modern technological growth and vast developpment we are forgetting everything in our life. Just go back to 5 decades when such transport developments were not there and then - people used to do all works only by walking. This kept them very healthy and strong. Walking is a good exercise which makes the body flexible.
It is good that you hve taken this decision and good luck for your result.

I think it is a good thing you are doing I hope you see some good results from all of the walking. I have never worked very close to where I have worked so I have never walked to work, although I almost did once when my car was broke down but they sent someone to come and pick me up, which was nice. It probably would have taken me an hour to walk there. Now I work at home so I try to get up a few times a day and get up to do 10 minutes of exercise. It is working.

It is a good way to lose your weight. At my study place, I prefer walk to class instead of taking bus. Walking in the morning make myself feel great, it energizes and awaken me and I can get my mind relaxing while walking. Just hope that I won't sweating too much all the way to class...it quite annoying if you are sweating a lot and you still need to attend to the class or work. But it is a good practice, keep it on..and wish you can achieve your target.

Its a good way to lose a pound actually i have tried going to work on foot and walked for 20-30 minutes for about 1-1/2 month and it brings a good results, and it really works, walking is a good exercise and can tone up legs and hips as well, 20 minutes is almost equivalent of 25 minutes cardio, So what do you think the best way to lose a pound? Keep on and you will notice how it works and match with a balanced diet..Amazing results..
Happy lotting!

I have been walking to school for years, and I can tell you, since I got my driving licence and go to school by can I can already see the difference in only a few months, I'm a slim guy and my belly has always been flat, but since I don't walk anymore it became a little rounded, and I don't like it, but even then I will not go back walking to school as I don't really like it, it takes about 30 min for me to arrive, during the way I will start sweating and even if I took a shower the same morning I will be dirty again, during winters then I used to take my coat off beacause my body started to warm up but with doing that I was more likely to get a cold frequently, not to talk when it was raining. My advice is to keep doing that when the days are perfect : sunny and warm. You will see the difference and your health will get better, a little less if you live in a big city and take the main streets to get to work. Good luck to both of you for your walks :)
