The title says Killing animals...? But who kills the animals ? that is my question. We humans kill animals and eat.Whether it is good ? I too eat non-veg a lot.But I often think, how we can kill the animal s and eat it together with our family or friends. It is also a life too !! If I say this in home then every one will do fun over me.Ya its natural. But , what to say I think it is a big crime. It is ...!!! whether it is possible for all to change into veg eaters. If it is a mistake are we going to continue this...? I too eat but I feel bad about that..Won't you ?

no i dont agree with you . the most of the chicken we eat are grown just to eat and i dont think that we all become vegetarians . . i cannot leave the non veg and live bu=y eating the vegetarian food . i think their is nothing wrong in killing animals that are large in number . even if we become vegetarians we have to kill the plants . they are also living things only . .

Yes animals are reducing in number but not the ones which we consume. The animals which are becoming extinct are ones which are being hunted down by poachers for making clothes, shoes and other stuff and not for making any kind of food.
You are mixing two completely different things over here. You have just asked us about animals which are killed and eaten and not the ones which are hunted for unnecessary reasons.

Great discussion! What a beautiful world we live in with so many different perspective on things and life that most if not all don't understand, including myself.
Just observe: feel, hear, smell and look at the world objectively. Even the animals encroach on other living things; they eat to survive, just as we do; they hunt to survive, just as we do; they care for life, just as we do. The ants bite us when feel threatened (notice... feel threatened!). Mosquitoes do the same for blood; an instinct if neglected will cause them their lives. Humans have this same intrinsic emotion too. If we do not obey its command we will perish!
But, of course, everything has to be done in moderation - understanding that we must kill animals to survive - we must continue the cycle of life by replenishing other life-forms; Our fate is tied to theirs. With our profound knowledge and power, we overdo everything in pursuit of greed, yes greed! We have everything here to our comfort, and all we have to do is preserve life in every form, yet we fail miserably.
The plants have life too; they sway in the wind to indicate this marvel; they age and die too. So killing trees is as great an offense as it is to kill animals. You hear about Global Warming?! the killing of forests is a contributor to this disaster.
So what do you think? Are we killing to survive or are we killing 'cause we are the devil?

Okay, let me see. I just love beef and really cannot live without it. Yes, it is cruel to kill animals, so we can indulge ourselves with the meat. But it is very healthy, as we need that protein. I won't look how they are slaughtered, then i will definately not eat meat at all. It is a very sensitive subject for a lot of people. TATA.

It differs from person to person. Some can change their eating habit and turn into vegetarian and some are very dependent on meat that they can never dream of leaving it. If you geel bad then you can leave it no problem. But it is not a crime to eat something which is tasty and has no problem of becoming extinct!!

This is quite an indepth subject but a good one! I personally love eating meat and I cannot live without it. I don't like or agree with the killing of animals for the fun of it, this would be a horrible and cruel thing to do. However, the killing of animals in a humane way in order to live, I'm ok with this idea. When I eat my meat I just pick it up from the supermarket and everything is prepared. I don't see how that animal is slaughtered or anything like that. I don't think I would be able to kill an animal that is still alive, I just couldn't do that. Andrew

As you are saying.. We are animals also that needs to eat to survive. Vegetarian food is good but we really need protein and other nutrients from meat. Look at it this way. Our world as we know about it. MAN dominates other creatures because of one reason, and it's because we have logical thinking. We have thoughts, we can reason out what we want or dont want. We can reason out what we think is right over wrong. But as we are also an ANIMAL by nature, and animals eat other animals to survive. Eat or get eaten.
We need to eat and survive like other animals do. The only diffrence between us and other animals is that we can think of the well being of the animals we kill and eat. While Animals dont have anything else in mind but to eat.

Animals are necessary for the chain of life in nature. The problem is, if we end up all going vegan and do not use animals, the herds will still need to be thinned out. When a particular group of animals gets too large, they can end up starved, diseased, and become aggressive even if naturally they are not aggressive. For example Deer. They are gentle creatures, but when there are too many and their is not enough food they do get aggressive with other animals and even humans.
It is not a crime to use them for food, but if we would need to thin the herds and not use the animals but just dispose of them, that would be criminal in my opinion.
Animals are a gift to us; some give us pleasure by being pets and their loyalty is unequal to man. Others are a food source, and ultimately is in a way kind to those animals because their herds will not get so large where they will end up starving and/or dying from horrible disease and suffering.

@rosegardens- I like your response! Very scientific and educational! All things in the world has its purpose and that is the purpose of animals in our lives, to be eaten and also to be loved by us.

well yeah I am a fish and meat eater and yeah I kill fish to eat, I also love meat of any kid,
I have no problem with animal's being killed its just the food chain even in the wild when you see lets say a lion rip a deer to shreds people don't complain about that but when humans do it some people complain its nature at the moment we are top of the food chain.
I guess its how the animal is killed that's the main thing nice and quick is a lot better than a wild animal ripping another animal to shreds.
So no I don't feel bad about eating animals as am sure the lion doesn't feel bad ripping a deer to bits its nature and we are just part of nature same as a lion or the deer etc etc

I am non-veg and I love eating chicken mostly. I do eat mutton as well but very rarely. I think I do not do anything wrong. God has made us omnivorous and I am enjoying it. Chicken are not endangered species and they will never be as there are lots of eggs daily that are preserved and new chickens born out of them. Yes, they have life too but if we don't kill them there will be excess someday. We must maintain the ecological balance as well. It is silimar to lizards eating insects and rats eating lizards and so on. I don't worry much about them. I would worry only if their species become endangered, I will never want chicken to become extinct.

there is a less violent way of killing animals, which in islam is called halal. certain methods of killing animals are just gory. but in the process called halal, a prayer is even made before slaughtering the animal. but you know, killing animals for food is as old as he story of man and survival. it is nature at work and we cannot reverse the natural cycle... we can aggravate it though.
