Recently we had a sad tragedy in Haiti killing hundreds of people by this devastating quake and now again this Saturday in Chile with the magnitude of 8.8.This quake has set off a tsunami that threatened every nation around the Pacific Ocean. These incidents are happening after the release of movie called 2012.I have seen this movie and things are going the same way as at in the movie. So guys is this world going to be like the Movie 2012? I hope not.

I think it is very interesting how these recent earthquakes tend to be of great magnitude and all so close to one another. I am grateful to know that Chile, because of previous experiences, had somehow prepared itself with good structures against such massive earthquakes. My condolences to all the people in Chile.

Chile has been a country of earthquakes from the beginning of times. It has nothing to do with movies, with 2012 or anything. Chile lies in where one of the earth´s plaques meets another one. One of them slowly gets under the other and causes earthquakes. The biggest earthquake recorded in modern times with the technical help we now have was in Chile too, in 1960. That was called a cataclysm because the country´s geography was changed forever. This one is the second biggest in Chile and 5th in the world. It was 800 times worse than the earthquake in Haití. The tsunami that followed took more lives than the earthquake because it is the end of Summer and there were many people in the beaches and seashore. The earthquake left many places in shambles but did not take so many lives as in other countries because Chile knows how to make asismic buildings, so it struck on rural communities and a few buildings that were not well done (legal action will be taken later against those building companies).
Forget about 2012 but let´s try to take better care of mother Earth.
Happy posting!
