I wanted to share this excitement with you all! Yesterday, my son came home and told me that he had something in his book bag. It was a certificate for being an Terrific Kid! He also received an free coupon voucher, for a free hamburger from McDonald's too. This is his second time ever getting one. He had one in 2008 at another school from an different teacher. He was in Kindergarten then. I am so very proud of him. As soon as I saw this, I gave him a big hug and a kiss on the forehead. As a child, I saw the stickers of being an proud parent of a Terrific Kid. I always wanted to have one on the wall or car. But I never made it. I was such a good and well behaved student when I was in school. I am glad that my son received one. I am happy that he has this special opportunity, even if I have never accomplished gaining this certificate. Despite the issues that I have had with his teacher, he still received an award. Like I have told you all before, his teacher is a wonderful and sweet teacher. My personal feelings about her teaching is on a whole different level. It is so great to know that our children can go to school and still accomplish this! I wanted to post this on Friday, but yesterday I was so busy cooking and doing some other things. Have you or your child ever received an Terrific Kid Certificate? Share with me how you felt. Thanks for reading my discussion!

Hi cream
First of all I want to say well done to your son doesn't it make you so proud when your children receive something like this.
I am lucky my children all do well in school and often come home with a certificate of some sort.
But the one that stands out for me is when my youngest son got 'star of the week' it was his first week at nursery and he knew no one and also his dad was away that week so he was coping with that as well (he is a daddy's boy.) I was so proud of him he got it due to his fantastic behaviour that week as he is only 3 and half I thought he done ever so well.

I am always very proud when my children get awards. Congrats on your son's terrific kid award! I know you must be tickled pink especially after the run in you've had with the teacher. It's nice that she recognized him for being a great kid. Take care.

Hi, JenInTn. Yes, I was more than happy because, I thought that his teacher was beginning to become frustrated with him and the small issues that has been going on. I want to thank her personally for recognizing my son. It is wonderful that she can see his accomplishments regardless. She is a sweet teacher as I have mentioned before. The run in that we had, was just another tip of the iceberg.

Hi, shibham. I felt that way. I felt like my son was living my dream through him. It was amazing! I am very pleased with him because as a mom, all I do is try to teach him the right way. I constantly stay on him and talk with him. Me and him have a very close relationship.

Hi, eileenleyva. Yes, it is very great to have good children. Once, I thought that my son was going to be worse off because of the issues that has been going on at school and home. Ideally, he is a very great child that is sweet and hardworking. And for that I am glad that he is succeeding. Thank you for the compliment.

Congratulations and was the cooking for any special celebration treat?
Yes, it feels great when our kids achieve something which we’ve always dreamt of achieving ourselves but never could…I’m sure you son will do you proud in the future too.
No, neither me nor my son has ever achieved any recognition like this…even then like all mothers, I’m just proud of him as he is.

I am happy that your son has received such award as this instills him with confidence now and later on in life. I am glad that the teacher is a professional one and has put any misunderstandings that she had with you and awarded your son for his behaviour.
Unfortunately there is not such reward at my son's school. however when we visit our son's teacher duriing a parent's day activity, she always tell us that he is the most educated child in the whole school. His teacher sometimes makes a remark on his copybook such as Excellent or Well Done! For my son these remarks are enough to motivate him to continue to do well at school.

Hi, bounce58. Yes, there is indeed hope. My son was bugging me and his father all day about going to McDonald's so that he can eat his hamburger. All day long.. So after shopping his dad took him. And he could not wait until he got home to eat his burger!

I'm happy for your son. Did he do something special to earn the award? Or is it just because... Tell him one of your virtual friend says good job and keep it up. When I'm a mom I hope I'll have a kid that wins these sorts of awards. Once again, good show on his behalf!

hi there cream.
I am very happy to hear that your son managed to get the award you always wished for as well. I think all the parents on the face of the Earth hope that their children are more successful then they were in their life.
We don't have such certificates for children in schools but i think it is a nice idea.
Congrats for your son !
Take care !

Congratulations to your son, cream...I know he feels great about this! My kids received little awards here and there when they were going to school and I always made a big deal about them because I knew how proud they were. I think these certificates and rewards are a great incentive for kids. I know your son must feel pretty good about himself right now and that's wonderful!

That is awesome! Congratulations.
Last year at the end of the school year, the school principal was handing out some awards and out of over 500 students, he awarded seven awards to students who he felt deserved special recognition. My daughter was one of the seven.
We were so proud of her and gave her lots of hugs and scanned the certificate and emailed it off to family interstate. It is a great feeling when your child achieves something worthwhile like that!

Hi Cream. Boy I can see the pride in your discussion. And you have every right to be so proud of your son. It is great to give a certificate to a child that really deserves it like your son. I am so happy for you. Your son must be a very special person. No my children was always causing havoc in school. I was called to the school at least once a week for all the stuff they did to the teachers and other kids. Oh well I still love them no matter how bad they was. One of my daughters got the law called on her cause she had skipped so many days. After that I would take her to school and leave her at the principals office. She never missed another day! Made her mad but she got over it.
