The final long training run has been completed today! And I am beat! It was cloudy for an hour, then raining for quite awhile, and then stopped raining occasionally, and ended not raining. Then I got in my car to leave and it was hailing! Yikes. The run was completed on a mostly flat paved trail, the actual marathon will have a few inclines and declines, but not supposed to have any huge hills. I did 22 miles in 4 hours and 46 minutes. So how long will I take to finish the marathon?

Aw, sorry! I forgot to post that a marathon is 26.2 miles. That should help!

The good thing is, if I get there right in time for your guess, I'll still have an official finishing time. The course deadline is 6 hours and I'm using that as my only time goal. I must beat that or I won't be guaranteed a medal. But even if I only beat it by seconds, I'll still be an official finisher.

the competition helps to spur you on! I actually know someone who qualified to run in the Boston marathon, but didn't make it because of a family emergency - don't know about last year, that was the year before

Wow, that is amazing to even qualify for Boston! I think the qualifying time is good for the 2 years after it though at least. I don't plan on qualifying for Boston any time soon. Maybe someday when I'm older and the requirements change. But unless I speed up a lot, I won't qualify.

I haven't been keeping up. Sorry. I just moved and haven't even been running for 2 weeks. I'll say 5:20 for your marathon time. When is it again. I'm thinking March 20th, or maybe yours is a little before what mine was supposed to be. I'm no wheres near ready myself.

Wow, I can't even imagine not running for 2 weeks. I know you'll be out there again soon though! The marathon is on March 21st. I just hope I'm ready. Right now I'm just enjoying the taper, but at the same time just wishing it were already time for the marathon.
