What are your thoughts on the remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street?

As some of you may be aware, the remake/reboot/whatever you want to call it is released this year and will be here in the UK in May.
So what are your thoughts on this? Will this be as bad as Friday the 13th?
I personally do not like remakes, it's like film makers have lost their own creativity, so plunder movie archives...but then ruin a franchise.
However, saying that, I really want to see this movie as I have been a fan of the Nightmare franchise since I saw the original movie when I was 13...and I do fear this remake will ruin the franchise, but despite that, I'm drawn to this movie like a moth to a flame!
