Hi Ritchelle, This is new =) My first born is a boy too... but my hubby thinks I'm attractive! HA! =)) I've heard of a few theories too so what I'm sharing here are what I've read but I'm not sure if they're 100% accurate... anyway, here goes... 1) A study was done and they discovered that in war, there is a higher percentage of girls being born - hence, the more stressful the environment/stressed up lifestyle/personality you have, the higher chance of you bearing a girl 2) Ovulation cycle. The chances of getting girl is higher if you conceive a few days (can't remember how many days) before or after ovulation. They provided a technical reason but I dunno how to explain in details here without misquoting =) 3) When "accidents" happen (you know what I mean ;)), your baby is most probably a boy 4) The Chinese calendar kinda predict the gender of your baby - using your age and month of conception

thank you so much for sharing. those are funny. although, like what you said they are not 100% accurate, still, the thought that humans came up with those colorful ideas are really, really something else that can cause anyone to think twice, right?

Hahahah! This happens to be the recent one that I have read which is funny Well, it just states that you attractive ladies, I'll take your word for it that you are among them, just have a high chance of giving birth to daughters, not all the time. That's percentage anyway, there are chances and you can't always depend on them because it often goes along with chance and not certainty. Another thing that I have read within this year's February stated that, when we feel relaxed, we tend to make our genes better. Feeling good makes us make better genes as it seems. Somehow, it does make sense.. I slightly found it funny because with people's lives being busy and all, stress and fatigue surely can't get you feeling relaxed. Therefore, people end up making stressed and fatigued genes which their progeny will inherit, physically or mentally, I guess (^_^")

hey, thanks for the reply, for the comfort and effort in sharing . still, even if it is a percentage it is still a high percentage which can make any mother with a male as a first-born think twice .

Well, my mom was very pretty during her time and her first child was a boy. Anyway, even though I could never exactly understand how it feels to be a mom, does it really matter if your first born or your child is either a boy or a girl? I mean, yeah, I guess social norms would grant each gender an advantage and a disadvantage, depending on the culture in which that child is born into yet, I find it weird that gender would still be a determining factor wherein society, espcially the conservative aspect of it, would regard whether one can do more, less or be the best that they can be. Gender probably has its advantages and disadvantages, biologically perhaps but, that doesn't limit any person of their potential.

i've always wanted to have a baby boy but when my husband said he wants a girl i was braced for anything. actually, when my little one was still very, very young and doesn't have a definite "face" yet (if you know what i mean) i've always found it adorable that he somehow looks like my husband. four years later and i often see my own face staring back at me . anyway, for me gender doesn't really matter. what matters is rest assured that not only would the child be fed, clothed and provided a place to live in but the child is assured that there would be a constant presence in his life. that's why i decided to leave work since we have no relatives in our current place. as the child grows i don't think gender would have had any contributing factor in anything for a male raised properly is definitely something to be proud of but a female raised properly is more than enough for whatever disappointment her parents had regarding her gender and the inability to spread the family name.

That seems ridiculous! Who is it that makes the decision about whether you are attractive or not? Is there a panel of judges somewhere who look at women and declare them attractive or unattractive? And yes, I have read lots of funny things lately, but they are mostly made up - as is what you have read about this statistic!
