Do you reply to each post?

There is a particular mylotter whom I admire. He has the patience to read all replies and post a positive comment on each posting. It's incredible. If I have replied to twenty discussions I have received twenty replies from this person. I am glad that such patient persons still exist. We seem to live a fast society and it is very difficult to find someone to listen to what we are saying. I have to admit that even if I read the replies I receive I do not reply to each and every post.
Do you read and reply to each post?

If you post many discussions sometimes things ran out of hand without wanting to be impolite to other users. Thanks for sharing.

I have always replied to each post because I feel that if someone has taken the trouble to read and respond to my respond, they fully deserve a reply from me in return. Here on myLot and other social sites too, I think it is about getting to know each other (well as best as possible on the Internet), and supporting each other. _Derek

Hi, ronaldinu!
I try to, but there's not always enough time. Then there are those replies to which there is just no response...

Hi ronaldinu,
I am one of the guilty ones that don't respond to every post I receive, I will read them but I'm sorry, but any discussions about sports, children, mundane things that has no interest to me, I won't respond to, beside, I don't have the time.

At least you are honest and you admit it. I do too! Unfortunately I have started many discussions. I read them all but I did not think it was necessary to respond to each reply until I started replying to particular user. I have learned a lot from his example.

hi! I reply to each post that I receive in my discussions, but I don't reply to each reply to my comments on other member's discussions. i only reply when there is something that I can reply to :) and yeah, it really needs patience

I do like to reply to each and very discussion that I receive for the discussion I have started and really feel obliged to the person who has replied to my post. I try to go back to the post where I have replied and if I have received a reply I sure like to go back and read it even if I may not want to reply back.

I haven't started a discussion yet. I try to respond to all the discussions my friends start. Sometimes, there is just nothing else to say, or my one friend starts some discussions about sports that I know nothing about, so I don't reply. It would take a lot of time to respond to each post, but I would probably try.

I do not post many questions. I usually reply to other people. However, when I do pose a question I reply to every respondent. The idea here is to engage in a discussion. There are many people here who pose a question and then do not reply to the people who take the time and effort to reply. Eventually one gets to know those people. I simply stop replying if I never get an answer back.

I reply to each and every post....but now I have given up on lots of you, mylotters as I spend hours responding...and then get ignored! Makes one feel chargrined, and they are unimportant. If I start a discussion, I make sure I respond to any that has taken their precious time to respond to me. There are some of you now posting over 10-15 discussions a day...when I take my time to respond to them, then not get acknowledged ... I get discouraged. Now, I am responding to those that acknowledge my existence! Cheers!

I get your point pergammano and I do agree with what you had to say. It's not a nice feeling being ignored after putting all your efforts to submit a good feedback.

Thank you, Hatley! I subscribe to that code of conduct too...everyone's time is as precious as mine, albeit it may be in a different way...but they were kind enough to respond...and therefore I must acknowledge, with creedence. I have basically two hours here, before I go to work...and when I spend that time responding to only TWO posters...and not get one acknowledgment...I tend to shy away from their discussions in future! Sorta like giving a verbal speech to the hearing challenged...LOL! Thank you, Hatley....hoping this spring brings a great job to your son...and a lovely NEW apartment to you! Take care..and Cheers!

hi pergammano I am the s ame way, I must reply or comment to each response on my discussions as they were sweet enough to respond
to my discussion so I owe them a comment, and I will get them all done too eventhough it may take me awhile to do it.I could never post that many discussions as I would never be able to have time to comment to them. lol

I comment on all the responses that my discussions receive and very often the users come back and respond again so that Ican comment again and we get discussions going in the individual boxes. It's great when others land and join and there are several Lotters in each response - the more the merrier! After all, isn't that what we earn for here, discussing?

I try very hard to respond to each post. I take the view that if someone is prepared to take the time and trouble to respond to my (usually) inane discussions then the least that I can do is acknowledge that fact! There may be a few unfinished discussions of mine out there, but if there it is because I have an excuse - illness usually.

Its hard especially to those users who have posted a numerous list of discussions. And thus its almost impossible to catch up. But believe me this particular user have managed to do so.

I generally respond to every poster. There have been times, when I knew if I did respond to them, that I would possibly lose it, so I would try my best to ignore that post. But it is very hard to do so.

I do try to reply to discussions that I have on my friends lists. In the beginning it was easy because I had maybe a handful. I now how over 40 and it's hard to keep up with all the discussions. I think it's also the content of the discussion. I try to reply to a discussion if it catches my eye.

I certainly try to - but definitely I'll read all the comments. I get behind though (like I am now) . . . and it may take me a while, but I will respond to every post no matter what is said by them. I think anyone who took the time to comment deserves a response back. When I first started on myLot and didn't know what I was doing, I think I didn't actually get back to everyone . . . but I intend to go back to those discussions to make it right (again, I am behind in that project). And I will say for those who do make the effort to do the same, those myLotters are remembered and appreciated the most in my mind!!

I don't know if you increase your earnings if you reply to each and every reply. Certainly it is a courtesy that many of mylotters here appreciate. At least I do appreciate that someone has taken interest in what I have written.

Sometimes replying to all discussions means posting less thus earning less here. But I prefer to build a "virtual friendship" relationship with some users here.

Actually I find that replying to all the discussions DOES mean more earnings . . . as long as your replies to everyone back is of quality as well. For me replying back to everyone is easier because you automatically have posts to go to . . . instead of taking the time to find discussions to reply to - for me that can take longer.

When I first joined MyLot I did not reply. I had a misunderstanding that made me believe it was against the guidelines. Now I do respond to every post, unless there is just nothing there to hook a reply on to. It is one reason I do not post very many discussions at all. I want to have the time to comment on the responses and to choose a best response. Today is the last day of the month, and I should get some more resolved. I used to do that at the end of every month, but was too busy for awhile. When I go in to do that, I will read everything, and respond, and then I will make a decision about best responses.

I read every response. I may not comment on every one but I do read them all. It is only fair. I asked a question or vented or declared something and someone has responded! The only reason I don't respond is because the response was so well written , there is nothing else to say or add.

hi ronaldinu I really am trying to comment to each response I
get on my discussions, and if they are popular oh my, my hands
ache at times but I feel I must reply to all as they took their
precious time to respond to me. I make all my comments at least three or four lines long, not the irritating thanks for response some do, I hate
that. I do really try to comment to all, a nd will keep doing so
until I am finally caught up.

Hi,
I not only reply to every post in my discussions, I make sure that I've read every word of the response before commenting on it. Its not only about patience. It is a sense of responsibility that motivates me to respond to each of them. I get some posts that are just a few words or irrelevant. Still as the initiator of the discussion I am obliged to put comments on them too. Its also an appreciation for their contribution to the discussion.
God bless you
