hi. i have this small weakness, which is creating big problem for me. most common question usually asked in interviews is 'tell some thing about yourself', and there i go completely lost as i am not sure on what i should give more emphasis , i mean , my personality, talents, creativety, strengths, weakness, and should i be more or less descriptive. i need some help on this. its difficult for me to speak about my self and i end up saying jibberish.

Smita, this question keeps showing up every now and then. In social situations, or in job interviews, and so on. My take on this is like this: If it is a job interview that you are facing this question, then think of what you can do best, that what you have a record of having done best, like for instance you are best as a planner, and have instances to cite then that would be best to start on. The others will follow with the next best, the next best until you exhaust, almost everything. If it is a social situation that you are asked to introduce yourself, then you must bring out that thing that you would like to best remembered for. Let's say musical talent is your best point, then start with that. The others as I said earlier will keep popping up. Hope I have answered your question.

One thing I used to talk about to break the ice was a collectible called The Turds, which were models of turds based on jokes or famous things. I used to help promote them and also for a couple of years helped run the collector's club and had an absolute blast, although in the end the company who made them treated me like garbage. Another I mention is my interest in digital art.

Hi Smita, I hope you've already learned by now that before going to face an interview you've to do your homework on the particular concern. When you are asked about an introduction they don't actually want you to repeat things that you've already written down in your resume. The first thing you should do is to get rid of the stress and cool down. The more friendly your interview seems the more possibility there is that you may grab the job. And of course, you should be brief and to the point. You also need to be positive and assertive yet be humble and polite. Don't even try to be something that you are actually not. They can smell pretensions. Say less, but don't say negative or wrong stuffs about yourself. Even when asked about your weakness, present it as if its not a weakness at all. Don't be lost in wilderness. Just be yourself and enjoy the interview. Don't forget to mention how you are related to the jobs or projects that the concerned company carries out. You have to prove yourself relevant, which shouldn't be a difficult task if you have lot of information about the company beforehand. God bless you

hi! I have never been to an interview because I still study at the university, but if i go to some interview for a job, and the people there ask me to say something about me i will definitely begin with my weaknesses, which are not that many, and then will continue with the good things, so that i can make something like gradation and not degradation

hmm... that difficult but this is one thing you should always remember in any interview Be your self and stay and be fully confident. why? that's one thing everyone or company looking for a person telling some traits of your self is not so bad it will result in a good thing not bad so when you are in an interview, before you go or enter in the room breath well and stay relax, just put in your mind that be PROUD and stay confident because it is YOU

when you are doing a job interview they want to know about your job skills and experiences. start their and then tie it in with how useful all your talents and skills could be used and abused..lol.. just joking. i mean tell the overseer...oops there i go again...i mean boss about the benefits your skills and work history could benefit the company. review your resume before you go on you interview. they are looking to see if you can say what you wrote on the resume in brief. ever notice that while they are talking to your and peering at you (lol, their i go again), they are looking down at the resume you gave them? this is because they want to know that you can respond quickly to hazy situations and know how to work a back up plan.

One thing that always seems to work for me when I am asked the question, I just mention the time when I was travelling in England and my appendix ruptured and I ended up spending 2 weeks in a England hospital. That usually gets the ball rolling as people seem to be curious about what it was like, or what went on while I was out there. Do you have any special talents? Have you ever met anybody famous, or been on TV, or in a movie? Have you ever done any travelling? Or seen anything spectacular? Were you born some where neat? or grew up some where interesting? Have you jumped from an airplane? All of those are worth mentioning. Don't brag, just wing something interesting about yourself. They aren't looking for you to say "Well, I was a straight A student in high school", they want to hear something interesting about you...to see what kind of person you are.

If it is about a job interview, better have a written copy of what you want to say. Be particular about the relation with the job you were applying to. Just a brief statement about your self on how efficient you are if you will be hired with the job. Never say too much which is not in relation with the job description. You should always think that,it's a job interview and not a celebrity shows that we need to give our full details. Just write it on a paper and re read until you can memorize some of it just to give you some guidelines when you were facing the actual interview.

I think in answering this question you have to be natural or spontaneous. You already encounter this again & again , you can formulate your answer & improve it. You can ask some English teacher or call center agent for the tips, they can gave you accurate answer.
