moving into a hotel

i am soo very stressed, but i guess you can only be so stressed out about things right. i have to move into a hotel tomorrow because my apartment complex when up on the rent $100. it's already expensive to stay here. in the summer time the light bills shoot through the roof. it's summer here 9 months out of the year. if i stayed here, i would have to pay almost $1000 dollars in bills. in this part of the u.s, that is alot. the cost of living is high and the pay is low. they say it wasn't always that way, but the economy has made it that way. it's hard to move from the home that you know. our memories are here. also, i don't like the fact that the complex is trying to get me for exit fees they created. i did everything i was supposed to about leaving the right way. i gave them notice, paid up what i had to and they are still saying i owe them almost $300 in fees. they said they didn't put me in the system for the new rent, but is doing it now i am leaving-creating a balance for me. i can't afford to pay them, and pay for us to live after we leave. they know that i have a family. why are they doing this to me? this state is sooo messed up that if they screw my apartment credit, i won't be able to get a new apartment here in this state. i will have to move from here. this kind of makes me glad because I HATE THIS STATE. we are going back home as soon as i can build us up some cash and my kids get out of school. i want them to finish out the year. moving is sooo stressful, especially since you don't know what is to come. right now i am typing this and just crying. my kids are playing outside so i will stop cause i don't want them to see me. to boot, the apartment says that if we stay past 8am tomorrow morning, we will be charged double for an extra day. they rented the apartment from under us and everything. they are really screwing me and this is not the first person who left here this has happened to. i heard this from someone else i knew here and keep it contact with who moved. the positive side is that i do have my disability and money from my online businesses. i also have a temporary gig for a couple of weeks. easy money passing out flyers and memorabilia at concerts. so, it's not going to be that bad. at least at a hotel i will not have to worry about a high light bill. i guess i will pay hotel for a month and take care of our food with my internet business. i am soo glad to have them. they have been helping our family out sooo much. what a blessing. i have a question. i have government i.d. but not state. i can't get state i.d., because d.m.v. will put my information on the internet. i am a survivor of stalking/domestic violence and can't afford to have him find out where i am. my question is can i get a hotel with picture government i.d.? as long as i know this, i will feel a bit better. i am soo sad right now. mylotting is just taking my mind of things for a while. been a rough week.

Last I had heard, staying in a hotel will be even more expensive, and even a cheapo motel (with VERY little going for it) will cost nearly what you're paying now. Finding a cheap apartment (a studio, maybe?) would be cheaper and you'd get about the same amount of space to use as the little hotel rooms. Just my humble opinion. I totally feel where you're coming from, though. Mom and I are living together to try to save money mutually, but she was laid off and (since the unemployment has finally ended) now my paycheck can only cover about half of our bills. If she or I don't find a job (or, in my case, a second job) soon we will be homeless as well. It's an interesting place to be, looking at the road and wondering where you might go. I wouldn't worry about the I.D. issue. I doubt it'll be a problem. Just try to relax. It's a stressful time, so adding little worries won't really get you anywhere. Just keep focusing on the big picture, and at the very least it won't feel as depressing as it is. God bless you, and good luck!

thank you for all your support and good wishes. i hope things turn out okay for you too. the problem with finding another apartment is that in this state you are blacklisted from getting another when your apartment complex stops you from doing so. i have proof on paper that they screwed up and did things the right way leaving. i was not evicted, nor did i break a lease. they are going to black list me because of exit fees they are conjuring up. the scam sooo bad here. you can only get over if you are mexican (i am not being racist because racism is VERY ignorant and stupid). in fact, they are the ones being racist and favoritizing. no one else can get a break here and EVERYONE complains about it. i too, am hispanic not mexican, but that doesn't count in this state.

Ah, I totally understand that. Still, it's money you don't have in the first place. Let them deal with their blacklist, and keep your proof with you. Keep trying. Once in a blue moon you'll find someone who can understand. It may take a while and a lot of work to find them, but it'll be worth it. Don't forget to use friends! Ask friends who live in an apartment or park of some sort to introduce you to their landlords so you can ask for a vacancy. They are a lot more likely to believe you if a good tenant vouches for you.
