kentucky school systems

My child started six grade this year. I have sent in an average of $1.50 a day for charity of one kind or another since she started. is our schools a teaching institution or just another community chest charity organization?

I know what you mean I'm from Ky myself. Frist let me say tha tthe state has cut school funding in our state. Meaning we as parents are responsable for helping to raise money to buy the supplies needed to run our schools. Second I don't see any relief for the situation. Its crazy I know we pay a education tax but its still not enough. Our school system is messed up. The state uses our taxes to line their pockets and aren't interested inm the education of our kids. The teachers even expect us to teach our kids at home. What I think is that we send our kids to school to learn why do we have to teach them their work at home. Isn't that the teachers responsibility?

I hear what you are saying and total agree.When the ky lotto was started Gov. Wallace said the funds were going to our education system .Boy that was short lived.the reason the kids bring home the work is each teacher has 25 to 30 students a class. You know god, in his wisdom, made the average size family having 2 to 3 kids and placed 2 teachers(PARENTS) in charge of them. what makes our board of education directors think that teachers are so darn smart and quick they can handle 25 to 30
