SOP, GMA"s longest running Sunday musical variety show just aired its final episode last Sunday ( February 28), the whole cast were present while looking back of their greatest moment in its 13 years of airing in Philippine television.
On their final number, the sobrang OJ, ogie and janno hinted in their number that although they were beaten by ASAP in ratings, the battle is not yet over and after their number, a map of the Philippines under a black background was flashed in the screen with the words " Let's Party Philippines!"
I am looking forward for this upcoming show. But I think, most of the viewer switched their viewing habit through kapamilya shows. The battle begin but the question is. Kaya ba Nila?

Ah... so that's the reason why Regine's show was aired last time. Well I find SOP boring though their stage was much bigger than ASAP... I haven't got the chance to watch their farewell but that's okay... LOL Anyways, I'm not really that attached. I find ASAP better... :D

I really didn't know that SOP just raised their white flag over ASAP until I saw this discussion, and I am thanking you for this. With this, I can say that they cannot really underdog ABS-CBN's ASAP. Such career move was really giving them a big LOSER banner over their show. They should have just continued the rivalry and create tactics that would somehow increase their audience. And i guess that's what production staffs are payed for. Congratulations to ASAP. GMA is now giving me a big reason not to patronize their programs, they are cowards and losers.

ASAP's performers are well known world wide. The reason why SOP failed to top the show was because ASAP has TFC. While I was in dubai before we subscribed to TFC. an agent knocked on our doors. An agent for orbit. GMA network's version of TFC. he was offering to give us monthly load so we can text or call our loved ones for switching to the other network. We found this really pathetic.

Actually I was shocked when I read through GMA 7's Twitter account that SOP would take its final bow last Sunday. Guess they really have to reformat their show to match ASAP, and perhaps they could not totally do it under the SOP banner. So changing the whole show probably is a must. Like you, I'm also looking forward to its replacement. I just hope that it will not disappoint viewers anymore, like what SOP did. I came across negative comments at igma.tv forums about a lot of flaws in SOP, especially in the people's clamor to change the director Louie Ignacio.
So, let's just wait and see what the new show has to offer.

That is to be seen yet in the coming week. I think same faces will still appear in the same program with a different name so I guess we would be expecting something different from the format at least. Hopefully if they can make it a little bit livelier than they have a chance to beat ASAP which for me is entertaining because of its very fluid presentation of their number. It is almost as if there is no pause in between numbers.

hi there lienrose, before I really watch SOP than ASAP, but GMA has to see the difference with their talent with ABS CBN. ABC CBN I think has a highly competive and expert support group. and I think abs cbn is more organize than ASAP, up to there last episode I cant help it I can really comment on the way they do the lipsing and dancing, GMA star has no stage presence and must undergo lot of workshop. To be honest ABS CBN is lot more better than GMA
But hopefully pilipinas party show is a lot more better than SOP.
have a great day and happy mylotting..

Oh I didn't know SOP had a farewell episode last Sunday because I was glued to ASAP. Actually I never watch SOP, but that was sad knowing they really gave ASAP a tough time when it comes to show competition. Hope GMA's new show is a good one, I'll try to check it out.hehe

You can say that I am partial to the Kapamilya Network. I never watch any GMA 7 show. I like how shows on abs-cbn are presented. It really looks like a lot of planning had been done first before it gets aired. GMA should repackage their talents and make them appealing aside from the talent that they have.

Oh, so that was SOP's last episode? I was able to see a bit of it when my aunt switched the TV channel. Well, if the station's replacing it with a same format and same artists show but with a different title, they'd better step up! I mean talentwise, they're also good but not everybody's versatile. They need to liven up their performances, because they've gotten bland and blander over the years. I noticed that even their live audience is not that all peppy either, so they really need to do something about that.

ASAP all the way! :) LOL sorry for being bias, but I'm a true Kapamilya. I rarely watch GMA shows. Once I'm hooked on ABS programs, I don't bother to change the channel anymore. ;) They always have something new to offer, the artists are great in their fields and I feel like a true kapamilya just watching them. They seem so lively and can make a crowd go wild. Especially in live shows like showtime, wowowee and of course, ASAP. They know what the viewers wants and give it. With GMA and SOP, well...it seems there's a lot of awkward pauses (I don't know if it's just me or somebody notices it too?). Oh well, it's sad to hear about SOP airing their final episode, but I'll be looking forward to their new show if they can keep up with their biggest rival. ;)

Really? I was hooked with ASAP too because my cousin who owns the TV set is a kapamilya fan. ASAP has too many talents on singing and there are only a few that I love most. But I still want SOP because they sang live unlike in ASAP which they sang recorded sometimes everytime I watch, no offense meant I just notice hehe. Hopefully, GMA can make it good the second time around this time.
