Hello lotters, i was told by the one who gave me "jolen" (not banjo) that i should feed her with light food like porridge, or rice because she can't eat meat or bone at her three month age. So, here we go i have been feeding her with rice or porridge, i thought she is the one eating it to my surprise, my cat ponchi is also eating porridge. well, he (ponchi) being fed with cat food since i adopted him. I am happy because the cat food hasn't been helping him gain weight. although i was alarmed that i see jolen eating the cat's food(no way! not ALLOWED) so i put it some where else where the pup can't reach. are you kidding me? am fat and my pets aren't now way i am jealous

I'm not sure why you were told not to feed your new puppy dog food! Puppy food (canned or dry) is good for them and contains vitamins and nutrients that they need to grow. Cat food is definitely not good for a puppy (or a full grown dog) to eat. Besides making them fat, it has completely different things in it that in the long term are not good for a dog. On the other hand, a cat can eat dog food without any problems. Since all dogs tend to like things that aren't good for them, or things that smell bad, your pup will continue to chow down on the cat food. Don't let him do that. Try a canned dog food that says 'puppy' on the label. You will raise a healthy, happy dog.

a canned dog food cost around 40php I think. Thats only good for 1 meal. I also think that there is an 80php canned dog food good for 3 meals. =) hope this helps, but its pretty expensive though. I say stay with rice + viand + multivitamins. =)

har har har. i dont have any pets right now. my child is too young yet and my wife has allegies that can trigger her asthma so we have no pets right now. when i was younger or may i say when i was single i have pets. a chicken and a dog that both runs around the house but the dog does not hurt the chicken. it was both fat but unfortunately they got lost. mabe because they just ran around the house. my perception is the lasenggeros in our areas got then and made them into pulutan. sometimes when i am at work my mother or my mother or siblings go out and does not lock the gate. specially my youngest sister who is into gimiks during those years.

yes having an aquarium is one of my plans. i want to have fishes at home for my son loves it and it is relaxing to see fishes swimming around. i dont like caging animals, thats the reason wh my pets are roaming around the house. i was sad and angry at the same time when i lost my pets and from then on dont like to have pets anymore. but i will try the fish and it is about time to start my son teaching about pets and taking care of it.

Hello seven, well, it's good and better not to have pets if it's gonna endanger interms of their health. you should have caged both the dog and the chicken so that they wouldn't get into trouble. don't worry you can try buying fish or a turtle in the aquiarium. must be hard to loose a pet. my brother has a female dog and two male chickens, not rooster XD

Hey Letran! Don't let the cats get too fat now! As they get older they tend to put on alot of weight and then it is really hard to get them to lose it! So, it is better to keep them skinny as long as you can because obese cats tend to become sick cats as I found out with my last to sweet cats Jaguar and Cougar! They were 24 pounds each and had all kinds of ailments! Now my Star and Luna weight 13 and 1/2 pounds each and are much healthier cats and I want them to stay that way! Their Vet said they seem very healty so far and I am so glad! So, take it easy on the feeding! It is better to let them be a little hungry then to overfeed them! Take it from me!

Hello Opal, thank you so much for the concern. oh, yeah i almost forgot you also had the most healthiest cats in the cat lover of mylot comunity. i could say that those cats are quite heavy am sure you're not carrying since they're too heavy and moves a lot when you hold them, right? i will take your advice. besides i don't have the money to buy cat food again

Hi LetranKnight. I think if you feed the pup with only rice, it wont get enough vitamins and minerals. It would be good if you give him rice + vitamins(or food supplements) OR try "nilagang baka" or beef stew, then shred the meat and include it in the rice that the pup is eating. I think he'd love it. Well my puppy does. Don't forget to put "sabaw" (broth) to add more taste. It's ok for the cat to eat rice too, but don't get him/her too fat it's not good.

Hello dragonite02, But the puppy is just three months old and i was told not to feed her meat until she grows a little bigger, let's say a month or two later. although i keept adding soup from the dishes so that she could have taste for it. trouble is that the cat is also eating it up. which makes me amuse because this is how i see jolen becoming aggressive against my cat ponchi. i guess their weight is better than being a lot fatter.

If the vet advised you not to feed him, then dont a vets advice is better =), but if you only heard it, then most certainly its not true that he can't eat =) try asking a vet if it's ok to feed him meat. I shred a peice of meat (nilaga) through a blender then mix the broth and rice. He always barks whenever the food is ready and I also annoy him while eating by trying to get his dog food bowl and in response he growls at me and bark. I do it only once because he might hate me forever =)

Hehehehe... well, don't be surprised. Animals sometimes have weird taste in food. If you're puppy is eating cat food, the cats in my backyard are eating dog food. And they like it very much haha.

hello iskayz, I was really shocked and didn't expect that from a cat since he likes fish and cat food most of the time. but some cat owners here are actually feeding their cats with rice only, no wonder they get so fat. i hope this will make my cat ponchi a lot bigger than he's supposed, cat foods' aren't making him big, am worried before since he eats a little and doesn't have tummy, until now
