It is said that solar energy is free of charge and good for environmental protection. Do you use it frequently to handle many things in your house? How do you think about it? Do you enjoy its service?

I would use solar energy if it was available to me. The share house I occupy is rented and the owner is too cheap to install a solar hot water service. This is a shame because we get plenty of sunshine and it would be good to harness some of it.

We do not have it in our house, but a year or so ago we were going to get the panels as we thought that in the long run it would save us alot of money. It works out so expensive to have the panels done and it would take us along time to get our money back so we decided not to have trhem at the time, but i think in the future we may get them when we have more money.

Great discussion. I wish I could say I used more solar energy because it is extremely economical. I think the only solar power I use right now is my calculator. How sad is that?! I wish I could use more, but I think it's going to be a while until they come out with more solar-powered items such as things for cars and houses. I've heard of a type of shingle that can be installed on the roof providing solar power to the home. I've also heard of people planting grass on their roof and reusing the energy from that. I'm sure there's a lot more to it than that, but that's all I really understand about it! I want to learn more about solar energy and how to use it for the safety of the environment. Overall, I've heard solar energy is a lot cheaper so I'm not sure why we don't have it everywhere yet! I absolutely love seeing solar-powered homes. This subject is so cool. Thanks for posting this discussion.

I live in an apartment building that I don't own and nothing is solar operated. If my windows did not face right out into the common area and towards a very nearby highway, my curtains would be open often, and I would turn off my lights and utilize the light of day... but I really can't stand it when people are able to look inside my home and see everything that I do, especially when most of my neighbors are obsessively nosy gossip mongers.

Not totally since you will have to invest on it when putting that up in your place. I think for now the panels are quite big investment that you have to spare first before you can finally say you are enjoying free power for yourself.

Well solar energy is free but the technology to tapped it as a source of energy is not free unfortunately. I thin before you can fully utilize its energy you need to buy this expensive solar panels and battery to store the energyu it can get from there. I am hoping that someday they could offer it at a much affordable price to the public.

well.. we don't have it in our home , but where we work, we use solar energy to power our servers... saves enough money within few years to justify its high initial cost..

I have never use solar energy. Because it has not widely used so far, even if it was really good for environmental protection. I hope it can be widely used as soon as possible. This would reduce air pollution.
