What is Mylot's concept of Mature Content?

I am a newcomer in here and while going through some of the discussions have come across this Mylot posting: "This post contains content of a mature nature. You have selected to not view content of a mature nature. If you would like to view this post, you must first change your preferences to allow mature content". Does it imply that discussions which i can see have contents that are immature?. Shouldn't Mylot use some other term other than mature for posts as stated above. I know that mature has the meaning of being sexually explicit or offensive; but has that meaning got dominance over the commonplace definition of maturity? Coming from a land where English is not vernacular, I would like to know your views on this. Regards.

I don't think that it should be a big deal, mylot using the phrase "mature content" rather than explicit or something like that. If you do understand what mature content stood for then I don't see why it should matter. That doesn't necessarily mean that other contents not of mature are immature, does it? But there are in fact many immature discussions here on mylot, I'm afraid to say.
