I have to say I don't like animals too much, so that's why I don't have pets, but I really hate to see people that they have pets, but then they treat them bad and abuse them, so why would you have a pet if you are going to treat them bad, pets are as important as we are in this earth, I have seen people that move away from their places and abandon their pets, but then when somebody abandon a child they get mad, I think abandon a child as you abandon an animal is equally bad. What do you think? What are your toughs about those people that mistreat animals?

Definitely it is a bad thing to abandon your pet. I have never seen any one who has abandon their pet but I think that the one who does must be thinking that animals can adapt them self. I think there most be some laws against such acts. If there is than you can report such events to the concerned authorities.

well. i too wouldn't be counted among the animal lovers.. but we do have found sort of a pet in a stray cat that's been hanging around our neighborhood for some time now.. we occasionally feed it and it shows its gratitude by rubbing its body against our hands and legs.. but if we would have to move from our present location, we wouldn't take it with us, since that would be too troublesome for us.. most animals would survive on their own under normal conditions unless its been bred in captivity.. but abusing them would be entirely altogether a different matter.. someone in my neighborhood actually sprayed some hot water on an unlucky stray cat for just sitting on their porch.. what do you say to someone like that..

I think that a lot of people treat animals as material things instead of little beings that have lives. Also some people are just completely heartless and irresponsible to the point where they don't care if they leave an animal all by itself to die or malnutrition an animal. I think that it's pretty shameful because most of the animals that are abused are in a situation where they can do nothing to help themselves.
Thank the world for animal police or else there would be a lot more abused and neglected animals out there that don't deserve it. I just don't understand how people can treat living beings in such a way.

I don't think humans or animals should be mistreated. I think with animals people get them without knowing how much hard work they can be to look after although even if that is the case they still shouldn't abuse them but give them to somebody who will take care of them.

We are rescue people and so we see this all the time. I can understand why people would abandon their pets more than why the beat or starve them. If I lost my home and had to feed my children and find housing for them in a shelter, I might be forced to leave my pets. People just get overwhelmed sometimes. This is why we
try to get information out to as many as we can so the we can rescue the pets. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't we all just do the best we can.

It really makes me upset when people abuse animals. I love animals and I watch animal cops and dogtown. I don't understand how anyone can harm a animal. They are sweet and innocent. I have grown up with dogs and they give nothing but unconditional love. Yes at times when my dog doesn't listen I yell at her and the whole time she is looking at me wagging her tail. Seconds later she is forgiven. I have never beaten a animal. And if people have to move and can't take their pets you don't just leave them there. You can find them a good home most places you give a 30 day notice. There are plenty of animal rescue groups out there. You can even call the humane society and they will find them a home. I am also shocked the laws are not strict enough to people who do abuse animals. I am going to use The Dogkiller Michael Vick as a perfect example. Yes it went to jail for two years wow. We will never know just how many dogs he had killed in dog fights. Now he is back in the NFL and he will make all the money he lost back. As for the few dogs of his that did survive Best Friends took them in and were able to retrain them and find them homes. Some of course who couldn't be turned around are living at Best Friends. They had had 3 episodes on Dogtown about the michael vick dogs. The first one was very upsetting to watch as they went into detail exactly the abuse these poor dogs went through. I do not have any respect for anyone who abuses any animal and I hope one day the laws will be tougher and we stop looking at animals as things. They are living creatures who feel pain and deserve to be treated with love.
