The Bulgarian designer Iskren Lozanov and fashion lingerie company Triumph won the lawsuit against Sony Music and singer Beyonce. The 7th Civil Chamber of the Landgericht in Munich barred the distribution and airing of the video for the song ‘Video Phone’ in Germany. After a trial which took place on February 11,2010 it was confirmed. Triumph turned to the court after it emerged that one of the underwear suits, which Beyonce wore in her video was plagiarized. The young designer Iskren Lozanov presented his work at the International Competition Triumph Inspiration Award 2009. On May 27, 2009 he won the Bulgarian final with his design ‘Day and Night’. The official music video for ‘Video Phone’ was broadcasted a few months later on November 17, 2009. This was the reason for the lingerie company to respond and protect the property rights over the work of the designer. Iskren Lozanov commented: “My collection was based on Picasso’s painting ‘Girl In Front of a Mirror’ and it would be just beyond belief for someone else to have had exactly the same idea and inspiration separately. I tried writing to Sony to ask them to just acknowledge my work and they did not even bother to send me a reply. So now we should let a judge decide who took what!” Here you can see the similarities and differences: http://frognews.bg/news_19340/Bulgarian_designer_sues_Beyonce/

Beyonce is OK, she's definetly a very beautiful woman also! I even don't think it's her fault. Usually the artists have their stylist who recommend them different clothes to chose from. May be they are responsible for this plagiarism, who knows? BTW the case was Truimph( German company ) against Sony Music, not Beyonce against Bulgarians! :)

This is the first time I've heard of a record company getting sued over a costume. I personally have nothing against her or her family; I say if you've got it and can combine it with all aspects of business (esp. marketing, in this case) then go for yours. On the other hand, that entire family has been in the news for some time regarding shady business matters and I think now is about the time when it (karma, comeuppances or whatever people may call it) is coming back tri-fold.

Sounds fair to me. If only Sony acknowledge the designer then the story would have end there. I think Sony is just trying to ride in the news and just waiting for the right time to make an apology not unless it thinks it's big enough that it can pay the damages once the court decide against them. But personally, i dont really care what beyonce wear or what's not. The girl look gorgeous with or without clothes .
