I went shopping the other day to get out of the house for a while and i did not want anything, but still i went and ended up cheering myself up by buying things for other people in my house to cheer them up instead.Even though i did not get myself anything i was soo pleased to see all the other peoples faces in my family light up.When you go shopping do it cheer you up if you buy things that are not needed,do you feel happier.

I think after a stressful day it is great to go out and have a bit of space.I think there are times where i say i will just pop out and get milk just to get out of the four walls of the house.I like to go shopping when i get spare money even if it is just to get a few gifts to put away or even if it is a little something for the children. Its called the great escape, lol.

My girlfriend does most of the shopping, but when I do shop, it is a very satisfying feeling. I usually shop for clothing like shoes, tops, jeans, etc. But I have to tell you that nothing satisfies me more than buying something for my two children and girlfriend. I love to see the look on their faces when I surprise them with something nice.

I know what you mean seeing their smiles on their faces as you hand them something that you have got them.I do alot of my shopping on the internet usually, but i just needed to get out of the house as i have been stuck indoors for a while so i thought that i would have a look in a shop near me that sells all sorts of things.

I used to when I had every credit card known to man and could afford to go shopping and buy, buy, buy. A new outfit or something cute for my daughter would usually do the trick. Anymore I eat! That usually does it for me. Or I go take a long nap. Depression is such fun!

Well, when I had all the cards was back in the 80's. I am not into it now days like I was then. I don't work and need the nice clothes or anything. I have gone from the high paying job to SSD and very strict budget.

I know what you are saying there are alot of people out there at the moment filling all the credit cards up aswell as there are alot of people out there that find it a struggle every day. There is a rare time that i can afford things that we do not need and this time again i spent money on all the others rather than myself.

Yes, when i was very upset, i usually will go shopping at shopping mall. Usually, i will go window shopping first, if i came across something nice and worth to buy, then i will buy and bring home. Usually, i will buy things for my home and also for my family members. I felt pleased when seeing new things in my home. If i am only having a mild upset, then usually i just go window shopping and didn't buy anything. Well, we should spent our money wisely although we felt upset.

I can't resist myself seeing good things on window and not buying them. I buy whatever catches my eye. Though they are mostly cheap and not very expensive. I spend hardly 2-3$ in my each purchase. But at the end of the month, it amounts upto 40$ or more. I sometimes think I cannot control myself but there are others as well who are like me and I enjoy it

Sure, I'll admit to shopping to cheer myself up!! I don't necessarily have to buy anything either - window shopping is perfectly fine. It's a nice break to get out of the house and just look for things - whether things end up getting bought or not - and we can still always "dream" about the things we want. How nice of you to buy things for others to cheer yourself up!

Thanks for BR, jugsjugs! Today was actually a sort of gray day . . . just kinda chilly outdoors and we finished our morning routine . . . the afternoon was just BLAH. So I hauled the kids and went to the mall .. . we went to exchange some birthday gifts - and it was good to get out. It made our Monday just to go out and shop a bit . . . it was an exchange deal so we didn't even have to spend any money!! Hope you are doing well (and getting some shopping in - hee hee).

I've given up this hobby a long time ago.
I used to do this when I was still university. I had allowance from my parents, and I got a little something in term of scholarship money. When I was feeling down, I would go to a nearby mall and buy myself something new.
Thankfully, I've cured myself of this hobby, addiction.
I still buy a few things for my kids though, and I must admit that it has the same affect.

It is noty very often that there is money left over after all the bills are paid so i think that it do not hurt once in a while to do a few treats taking into consideration that we do not go on holiday or even have a weekend break as a family so instead they all get little treats that cost only a few pounds.I love to see the smiles on their faces as life is too short.

I love to get a few bits to put away each month so that if there is a party or a birthday then i will always have something ready for the occassion.I also get a few bits that are in the sales aswell that i know will come in handy at christmas as that way it saves time aswell as the rush nearer christmas and i hate to panic like i had to this year,

I like shopping with my wife, so I will only be happy when I'm back in Thailand shopping with my wife. Here, shopping alone, and for one is not much fun.

I do not like shopping on my own not unless i just want time by myself then that is different.I think that it is more fun when you go shopping with someone.I always seem to get things for everyone else and it is very rare that i buy myself anything.I do intend in going to get a few craft bits soon when i run out of things to make my card, but that will not be for a while as yet.

Well, kind of. I usually always go shopping with my Mom and we get to talk and visit while we're shopping so I'm usually in a better mood when I get home. It's relaxing and fun for both of us.

I went food shopping with my mum the other night and it has been along time since i have taken her food shopping with me.I wanted to buy alot of shopping as i am fed up of running out of things aswell as running out of ideas of what todo for the familys dinner.Shopping took us nearly 2 hours from the time we got in the shop until the time we had put it all away.

When I shop I either get depressed or I just toldly hate it! I never liked shopping! When I was a kid I went shopping my mom and that is why I hate shopping! No matter what type of shopping it was my mom would be gone all day! She could spend hours in stores! I would get bored and hated waiting for her! Shopping with my mom turned me off to shopping! If I have to buy clothes I usually get depressed! Trying to find clothes to fit me is the biggest problem! It isn't easy to buy clothes for my size and finding anything even something that I even like! It is nuts! Shopping for anything else I just get what I need and I go! I don't screw around! Shopping is on the bottom of my list of favorite things!

I asked my mum to come shopping with me the other night as i thought there would be less people about at dinner time so off we went,we were done and even packed away when we both looked at the clock we realised we had been about 2 hours.I did warn her before we went that i was going to get lots of shopping and we did buy lots as i was soo fed up of running out of things aswell as that what ever was a special price i got lots of aswell as that way it saves house hold money in the long run.

I think that there are times that we all need a treat just to cheer ourselves up.There are times where i can not treat the family to non essential things so i tend to try to ensure that every now and again they all get something that they like.I think that with the economy there are alot of people struggling to get by so when we can afford things then i ensure that the children always get a treat first.

Ahh yes jugsjugs, the current crisis doesnt exactly improve things, my main problem is basically that im officially unemployed, so when i can earn a little here and there i take the opportunity to do so.
It is like everybody expects newly educated people to have 25 years of experience.

I try not to shop when I am bummed.when I am bummed out,I look out for things that will cheer me up.shoes, perfumes, lingerie, and beauty products cheer me up,and it is DANGEROUS since I will whip up my whole savings because I will buy all those things I love.I shop around when I am in a good mood, when I am clear about what I really like.

If there are sales on anywhere and i know that there will be something in a sale that me or my family would like then i tend to do as many things as i can to have a bit of spare money so that i can go out and treat a few people. When i go shopping i always make sure that every one in the house gets a gift no only a few people and if i can not find something for everyone then i will hide the things that i have got until the next shopping spree when i find things for the other family members.

Oh, yes! Shopping is a wonderful way to cheer up and forget the troubles if you have the money to do it. Even if I go out shopping for no special reason, no predetermined shopping list, I often find out things I really need in my home or for my family, but I didn't think about. Then shopping becomes a way to cheer up as I did something useful and pleasant for my family.

Every time i go out shopping i always seem to bring things back with me that i have got for the family and i rarely get anything for me.I also have a habit of buying lots of things that are reduced aswell as things that are on a special offer.I tend to get a few bits every now and again to put away for christmas or for other occassions like birthdays.

i seldom do that since i always buy my needs and not my wants. so far, my funds right now are intended for basic needs only. I shop for others only during Christmas, bdays and other occasions.

I try to get bits and bobs through out the year as that is alot better for me to get a feew at a time as then i do not have to shop for it all at christmas when the shops are full of people aswell as the expense of it aswell is awful. As for birthdays i try to get a few gifts and put them to one side as that way i do not have to rush out to buy them at the last minuite.

Oh yeah. I do the same thing. But what I do is that I go to Rite Aid because I love shopping there. Shopping there does make me feel better especially when I am buying stuff for other people. But just shopping in general for other people makes me feel really good.

I am like you and i also go shopping and spend my money mainly on other people aswell as i do so like to see their faces when they get that gift they were not expecting.I have found that the best time to go out to get a few bits and bobs are when the children are in school aswell as when the husband is at work as that way they are not knowing that i have been anywhere so the gift is a bigger surprise to them.

I can't afford to shop to chear myself up.
Instead, I'm doing crafts from the stuff I have here. For example, grapevines, glue and misc. things that I would normally thrwo away. Instead I'm cutting potato chip bags up and gluing things to the vines.
Recycled crafts are fun and they don't cost me money. I need every cent to go for bills or food. I can't afford to buy something not needed. If I could, I'd go see Avatar.

I always do that. Shopping is a refreshment for me and I love that. I am very happy after shopping for some time. Whenever, I don't feel, I go for shopping, even if it is 7 or 8 at night. Window shopping can also cheer me up, I don't have to buy something necessarily. I love it when my husband gives me company for shopping. He doesn't like to spend too much time in shopping, but he enjoys going to various cake and coffee shops in the mall and try various dishes.

I do not like to window shop as that is one thing that annoys me as i do not see the point of going shopping with little or no money.I like to go shopping with money and that way if i see something that i like or someone else in my family would like i can get it.I tend to do a bit of shopping when i know that i have the money todo it as that way i do not have to worry about any bills.

never ask this question to a guy.. or atleast dont expect honest answer.
i feel shopping is awful.. especially around thanksgiving days.. all are looking for bargain and messup at corner of shop where they dont want to buy any damn thing..
even generally, its never been a good experience.. in fact tiresome.. for many reasons.. just my POV..
enjoy shopping :D:D

I am like you that i do not like to buy things at christmas as there are always alot of people about and there always seems to be a mad rush to get to everything aswell as everyone is looking for a bargain. Then you get those people that seem to stand where you want to look on a shelf that gets my back up as they never move out of the way so that you can get to what you want.

I think that even getting something for someone else is nice as to see their face when they get a gift that they were not expecting is great to see.The chance to get out of the house is great aswell as that is a way to break up a day and make things seem better.
