I live like 5min from my job & that's if I hit all 4 stop lights + one stop sign on the way there! *LOL* I used to drive 30min one way wich was ok cause I had some "me time" but I don't miss rush hour traffic that's for sure. But other than the lil job I have now I've always been 30min away from my work.

Hi Snugglebunnies
My ride to work is about 5 minutes just like yours and I really like that quick commute time saves on gas and the stress of driving in rush hour traffic I leave before the rush hour begins in the morning and I am home before it starts for the evening thank goodness.
I chose to work so close to home so that if my children needed me while they were at school or the school called for me to come get them I could do that even though now my kids are adults I have one senior in high school left and she graduates this May but I have had my job since they were in elementary school

Thats a good point to be close to your child's school as well just in case. They seem to send the lil ones home more than probably the older ones. Thats one nice thing abt me working the shifts I do as someone will be home in case.

I don't. I work at home as a virtual assistant. It is very helpful because I don;'t have to pay all those fares and don't have to use too much clothes. Happy mylotting!

That's the best thing about working @ home you don't really need much of a wardrobe. And that saves money cause you don't have to update it if you don't want to.

I am about 7 min from my main job mon-fri but 40 min from my saturday job. I dont mind it, its really the only time I can listen to music, talk radio, or just have some me time like you mentioned.

I don't drive to work, I take the bus. It's more convenient for me. It usually takes 40 mins from my apartment to my office. I usually convert tv shows and put it in my phone and just watch it during the trip.

When I worked, I'm retired now and don't miss the commute at all, it would take me 45 minutes to get to work and that was if there were no accidents, traffic jams, etc. Fortunately, I took an old country road most of the way to work to miss the traffic, so there were no lights, but the road was pretty rocky.

From my house, it usually takes 45 minutes, if the traffic is light. But during rush hour, it would take an hour for me to get to work from my place. I just commute, I ride a taxi, and my travel time to work depends on the traffic situation and if the driver drives pretty fast.

Actually I am one of the "lucky" one who only has to walk from the kitchen with my cup of coffee to my computer. No driving involved! I've been doing this for about a year now, and I have to say..I love it! Staying home, making money, and sometimes even coming to "work" in my pj's!
