Hi, welcome to mylot my friend... This is a nice slogan then, good that you remember... this maybe true... but if you go deep down to the meaning of reading, this might lead you to the answer that real reading is thinking. While you read, you will use your rational mind to comprehend that content of it... Therefore, a reader is a thinker... The one that only recognizes the words, the phrases, the sentences, and not really really comprehending it... is not reading at all. Well, thanks to my English professor, he taught us about that!

i totally agree with HIdaisy. sometimes, we only read an read to entertain ourselves but we dont really learn from the things that w read. we dont ponder about the lessons that we could get from the books that we read. im guilty of this too. thanks for sharing this

This is true. But in my case maybe I am a thinker....LOL. Nothing will we get if only read continuously but not contemplate about it just like simply eat but not digest.

I think most readers are thinkers. When you read you have to comprehend the text and how would you do that if you are not thinking about your material? Also, most readers generally discuss the books they have read with others and you have to have spent time thinking about the material to be able to do that. a quote I like about readers: "A great writer creates a world of his own and his readers are proud to live in it.A lesser writer may entice them in for a moment, but soon he will watch them fling out." Cyril Conolly
