I think a lot of people like to use laptops better then a desktop computer. But I have both a desktop computer and a laptop. I just got my new laptop last week. I work on both of them though. Laptops you can pack up and take them anywhere with you. But desktops you can't. That is why I think people prefer a laptop.

I don't know what most people prefer, but I for one prefer laptops personally
They are small, portable and you can put them anywhere, whereas with a desktop computer, you need to dedicate a certain area for the masses of leads and compotents that come with them.
However, saying that, I would like a desktop computer one day as they are much more powerful than a laptop.

Desktop computers are more powerful and there's better future upgrade ability, but laptops are mobile - you could bring them almost everywhere, so if you're a businessman and you need computer to work with everywhere and any time you need it, the better choice is laptop computer, otherwise if you're a gamer and wanna play latest PC games on a big display for reasonable price you should choose a desktop computer. A gamer could find a great gamer's laptop but he/she's gotta pay double in comparison with the equal in capabilities desktop PC. So still most people nowadays prefer desktop PC, but laptops become more powerful and there's constant decrease in prices so it's almost certain thing that in future laptops will replace desktop computers completely.

I think that most people would choose a lap top as it is easier to put away if they do not want it cluttering up a room aswell as they can be took out with them to use.I think that a laptop is just as good as a pc.I also think that there are benifits to having both aswell as sometimes you need to put them away to decorate as it is easier.

I have both a desktop and a laptop. I use the latptop everyday, whereas the desktop, I just use for the printer, modem and router. I like the laptop better, as I can take my laptop around with me, if I choose to. I have had my laptop since January, and I really like it, as i thas windows 7 on it, whereas the desktop has xp. It has taken sometime to get used to windows 7, but I am getting there. I am really glad I bought this laptop, as I have not regretted my decision whatsoever. Take care, and have a very good day.

Most people might like the laptop better. I like the PC better because a) I can see the keys better, b) I can type faster and make mistakes without the computer acting up on me, c) I like the screen better. I like the laptop because I can carry it around and I can use a broadband card on it.

Strangely I find laptops offensive. I do not understand the point of making a computer case so small that the things inside are hard to modify. Of course I understand that small is better to carry around and etc. But when I think about it(and I have had a laptop before) it is not worth it to limit the computing capability. And the idea of an almost built in battery seems dumb to me. Some people may be confused if they do not have a battery come with the laptop, but what if I want to have a huge battery? Do I have to plug it into my other battery? That is inefficient. I love to modify computers and I currently have a rather 'ghetto' looking computer as some say and I prefer that. But it is a hidden hot-rod with components that could not possibly run well in a tiny laptop case. In my opinion, the laptop is too clean and shiny, has too little capabilities, and doesn't have a big battery. Now, I'm not protesting concept of the battery, just that I'd prefer a huge lead acid battery that fills up my whole backpack to run my computer, which I charge once every few weeks instead of something I charge every few days, but that's just me.

as people have said.....the desktop is much more powerful then the laptop. I prefer the desktop. Even though some hardware can be used on both types of computers. the desktop has more room for expansion and improvement. Various graphics cards and sound cards combined with an Intel i7 processor works fine on a desktop but might not be compatible on a laptop. However, for the people that need quick access to documents on the go the laptop is a better choice. startup time is faster and is very portable.

I think laptops are finally at the stage where they can be considered desktop replacements. I would recommend them over a desktop.
For PC users you actually get more for your money buying a desktop. But I think the benifits of a laptop outweigh the cost difference.
