Do you use the internet everyday? Do you work via the internet at home ore in a regular B&M office? I work at home and I am online all day but I wonder if my working online has caused an addiction. Do you think that working online has caused you to have an addiction to the internet. If I did not have the internet I do not know what I would do, My entire days would be horrible I would not be able to function. I shop online,I work online I even educate myself online. It is just so easy to get up and log on. How do you feel about the internet? Could you live without it?

There is no way in the world I could live without it. It has been my connection to family and friends when it seemed like they were half a world away. It has been a source of entertainment and a source of income in lean times. Now I do have a family and an outside job. However, I am on the net everyday, and I don't plan on changing it. The internet is like a pair of old comfortable slippers for me.

Internet is very necessary in life, in the information and communication to work online, online shopping, and online learning. Almost half of our lives can be answered on the computer and the internet. But we need to know, the Internet was very influential for the development of our thinking and mental respectively.
Usually people who have been addicted to computers and the Internet would be less concerned with the surrounding environment, they will be more cool to play in cyberspace.
I have a friend who was addicted to computers and the Internet. He prefers to play computer and the internet than he should continue his lecture.
And more severe if a person is addicted to the Internet but have a family.
they will be busy playing the Internet rather than taking care of their family and household
so use computers and the Internet was just as necessary

Hello Bluntress! I work online also and I wouldnt think of myself as being addicted. When the car was invented, did people driving think of themselves as addicted? Could you live without a car now? I know I couldnt!!
Its part of evolution and we are a part of it and of course we need to go with the flow. The era of the computer has changed our whole lives and we cant go back now.
There will be more drastic changes to come soon and I think we'll be even more "plugged in" than we are now. I read about smart appliances, the type that will let the companies know exactly what you eat, when you eat it, etc. Its already started with "smart electric meters".....they can now tell when you get home and pretty much what you're doing.
So NO, I dont see myself being addicted as its part of normal, everyday life now.

I am 100% internet addict! First, I spend my time without nothing happen, just surfing and communicating with my friends. Thats all I do. Almost 24/7 I am online. And most of all when I got lay off from my job. I spend my time using the net. I use internet on applying ajob, exploring a lot of things. Help my kids on their homeworks. But why not use my addiction in earning a money.... So something can be useful for my everyday life on using internet. So I did somemy online business and until I found this social networking that pays people. Its a great thing for me. Becaue I wont be able wake up in the morning everday, get off my butt to work, pay for the everyday transportation for the rush job. Why not sitting here at home and get paid! Thats a great thing on using the internet. You'll be the boss on your own!

I work at home online and use the internet for everything, too. When I want a recipe, when I want to know what the weather's going to do, when I'm curious about something that happened in the news, when I want to see how my daughter is doing, when I want to check my bank balance, read up on hobbies and on and on... I go online.
However, I take spells that when I've finished working for the day, I feel almost a repulsion for the computer and get up and leave it until I have to get back the next day. I think I'm burning out, but I still need it for all the reasons above. How did we ever get along without the internet?

Hi bluntress, just like you i hook up on the internet almost 24 hours a day. I earn through the internet and whenever I need to know something, I always rely on the internet. Being online seems to be a part of my life now. I would find it hard to live without the internet. :P

I think more or less you are obessed with the internet not so much addicted to it. Addiction is not being able to stop to the point it becomes unhealthy.
While I spend many hours online, mostly spent trying to make as much money as possible, I know when to stop. I know how to break away. I can live a few hours or even days without the net. Not to say I wouldn't be bored at some point. But, I've been without it before. Sometimes for months, because I didn't have any access to a computer. I found other things to do, and I suggest you do the same thing.

I work on line too and I have discovered for myself just how addictive the internet can be. I could happily sit here all day and night chatting to people and working away in my own little world. To be honest I don't think I could live without my Internet connection. The internet is my main route of communication to my family because we live in a different country to them.

This winter, with it being as cold as it has been, I've found I've spent hours more than I thought I would on the internet. It has been somewhat addictive. I'm hoping when spring hits, I'll be just as "addicted" to finishing my landscape and starting a garden.
