megh4u If I am not mistaken I think you are looking for a vitual LAN - means you will use your existing internet connection to connect with other PC over the public network or in short the internet. You can try PC anywhere but this will cost you some $ or take from warez, torrent etc. Other way is to use opensource you can also try openVPN. These two mention software above will fulfill your needs.

Try this free software, TEAMVIEWER. i use it in fixing my brother's computer over the internet. It has additional features, you can send files, chat, VOIP and so on.

Most computers are capable of doinging that already built right into windows. Its called networking and it connects one or more computers togeather to share one universal connection. Go to create a network in connection settings for step-by-step instructions. Each system is different.

If it's for multiplayer purposes, you can use Hamachi for virtually anything that needs lan. here's the link to the software: http://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi2/ It even works for the most unkown games that have multiplayer support, just give it a try!
