GM is recalling 1.3 million cars with a safety concern. It seem that the power steering motor may quit with no warning and cause you to lose control of your car. Will Congress hold hearings into this safety violation and will they demand the records of GM and publicly spank them? Or was going after Toyota just government trying to destroy the competition?

This is really a serious issue. They made the right decision to recall those. But it is much better if at the very first, they already knew about it so that they can solve it earlier in order to avoid loss. They must consider first the safety of their customers. In this way, we can also say that it has a good quality. They must also have some workers that know a lot about this field. So they must be really careful also.

It is good to have the government hearing on this situation. This is a very serious issue. Consumers have the right to know about this issue because there are many users of this certain products. The government should have a immediate action regarding to this issue.

its not about the competition anymore if there is a safeness issue about the product then we should get serious for this matter. the recall should be done before anything happen to the user of the those vehicles that have defects. it is a must that the congress should hold a hearing with this matter. it is for the safe of the users and nothing else. gm should realize that the quality of their product should always be their top priority.

the congress should hold hearings into this safety violation because the toyota company has its social responsibility to re check 1st all the finished models of car before selling them on public..its their conscience will speak for them if this would happen on the public.

Its nice that GM recall those cars because they are just concern to the safety of their client eventhough it is very expensive to their part. They must hire those workers that have expertise in creating such vehicle for them to avoid mistakes and to come up with good quality. Before also they will release it to the market they must inspect it. The safety of their clients is important. Maybe the government was not bias on this situation to accused them in destroying such competition. Competition in the market is better for the company for them to motivate and to create more new design.

i think their must be a hearing on that issue. and recalling 103 million of cars is like impossible. or if this could be possible it will take time to recall this cars. and it might have some accidents on those cars that are not yet recalled. good thing, atleast GM is thinking about the safety of the users.

Sounds like they need to go after the head of GM.... which would be 0bama.
Yes, hearings should be held... followed by public hangings.. beginning with the current head of GM as described above and going into the Union co-ownership.
Then turn the company back over to the shareholders where it belongs.

Haha! That's funny! Calling GM, Government Motors. It might as well be.
I think I saw this on TV this morning. It seems like there is a problem with the steering at speeds below 24 mph (does this mean we could just always speed up?)
They caught a break there with the Toyota recall. I just wish they didn't have to do this blunder to give them enough breathing space to catch up with the Asian car manufacturers.

I think the government cant recall those 1.3 million cares because they cant even solve the problems that our country is experiencing. And it will be very hard for them to recall because the 1.3 million cars has different brands. And gm is just trying to destroy the competition because toyota is very responsible for there customers by pulling out some cars that have defects. It is better if the government will check to those cars that is without license and maybe check the quality of the cars before the company will release them.
