ranomdom eh? I was wondering bout this quetion and searched abit about it online.
I think everyone have heard about that we should walk around 10000 steps per day? But how many people actually do that? I have tried using a pedometer before and I only manage do walk 8000 steps per day.
Most of the resource said that
5mil = around 10000 steps = around 500carlori for a person that weight 150pounds
How much do you walks per day? maybe not everyone have used pedometer, but you can try to guess lol

hi there, well i don't really know how much i walk, but yeah if you ask how long i walk day then i can say altogether i walk for two hours on an average, i am just guessing hehe, well i have heard that on the normal average requirement basis we walk around 8000 steps per day and i used to wonder then but it is kinda true coz that includes walking around the house and all and so yes i believe it is somewhere near that figure but i guess i walk a little more than the average coz i go to classes walking and so i guess it might be a little more than 10000, hmm guessing, anyways yeah something to wonder, good day.

I think the average steps per a day completely varies on lifestyle. Some people have jobs in which they walk around quick frequently. Others have desk jobs and sit all day.
I find my day varies a lot. I work in retail and do a lot of visual merchandising. This involves setting up displays. Some days it is intensive on a small area and I don't walk much. Other days I am walking all over the store recovering the store.
It sounds like you walk quite a bit though. Especially since you do the walking classes. Good on you for keeping up your fitness!

I really dont know if I walk 1000 steps per day. But everyday I walk almost 1 hour going to work and going home from work. THey says that walking is one way to reduce our calories. I dont have a pedomter, but we can assume that 1 secs have 2 steps, since that theoretical. :)

Thats great that you walk to work and back. I wish I could do that. Or I should do it more. I didn't have a car for a while and did a lot more walking. During the olympics I was walking a lot more because there was no where to park downtown if I drove. SO I took the skytrain and transit a lot.
Now I drive everywhere. I need to plan it better so I can walk. ONe work location I have is too far away to walk and cumbersome on transit. The other one is a 10 minute walk... but I work at 5am so usually I wake up late and end up driving.
Walking is not only great for your own health but its great for the environment. Good on you!

I never use pedometer, but i never take 10000 step daily, i don't walk a lot its killing my feet to walk that far. I try to enjoy my life, I only go for walk only for short distance and when the weather is sunny. the step I take maybe less than 2000 step daily.

Hello 5mayday!
I don't have heard that normal people need to do a 10 000 steps a day. I don't use a pedometer but in day i actually go 2000-3000 steps a day. On my country we don't have pounds and miles, don't now how much is a pound and one mile. Maybe I search it on goggle for nowadays!

I asked for a pedometer for Christmas for this exact reason. I was hoping to count my steps and perhaps "step it up". (pardon the pun). The Pedometer I had did not work. It was difficult to use and program. The instructions were hard to understand. It also simply did not work. I have thrown it out. I also find that pedometers tend to fall off. I have a very physical job where I have to bend down and climb ladders a lot.
Has anyone else had better luck with pedometers?

I do not use a pedometer, but also know that I do not walk 10000 steps a day. I know it would be beneficial and I think that I should try to walk more often. However, right now as I do not have a job again, I am stuck here at home not doing much. I will have to try to walk around more, maybe doing more chores around the house would help a great deal as well.

I try to walk 10,000 steps aday but I know I don't make it everyday but there are times that I do. I probably do it maybe 3 times a week with all the running around I do with my 3 year old granddaughter. I can't wait for the warmer weather to come so I won't mind walking even more.

I definetely not walk 10000 steps a day. Most of the time i spent working at my computer or in my car going to meet my customers. I believe I should move more :) Although i live in a big house so i think i walk more then some people that live in small flats, but far less then those who go to work by feet. I think I do walk around 6-7000 steps per day..

I may be walking 2-3 Kms per day. But I have a machine called morning walker, that clainms using it for 15 minutes is equal to walking 10000 steps. I use that for 20 Minutes every orning. :))

For awhile, I wore a pedometer when I took my dog for a walk on the beach and am sure we walked easily that every day. The pedo wasn't much use though because it didn't register the steps properly in soft sand and I gave up using it. Or that's my excuse. I think I just didn't want to acknowledge that I don't walk nearly as much since I discovered the internet. I should dig it out and see.
