its hard to find money, build home, plan for future along with unintentional problems that cause a lot of money and time to spend with. What value can it gain?

there are different reasons why people/corporations volunteer. companies encourage their employees for tax reasons, others to gain government incentives. some people do it to make use of their time wisely. while others to mend a broken heart. and there are plenty more reasons that you can find or hear. in fact, one of the reasons why i do it is to make use of my time wisely and productively. we can't turn back the time. it's best spent where others may gain. most people who haven't or doesn't want to volunteer thinks that it's all a waste - of time, money, and even future. but i say, it's not. actually, it's more of a gain - of friends, of learning, of insights, of personality. it changes you within. it makes you aware of the world you are in - cultures, languages/dialects, places, people, etc.. it makes you thankful instead of complaining. you also learn respect in different ways. i literally gained more, though not materially, but socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually. personality-wise it made me a better person and a citizen at that.

"What value can it gain?" The reward that one gets in helping other people even for free is incomparable to any amount of money. To you it may sound ridiculous, but to these kindhearted people it is not all about fat paychecks, but seeing smiles in other people's faces. I personally want to volunteer someday even if people around me would object. There are a lot of extremely poor families in the world who need help, and I hope I could help them someday. That would be a great experience for me.

Ooops, sorry danzekiel. This is supposed to be a standalone response to his discussion, not a comment to your answer. Sorry.
