Well, I am using windows XP. Once I had installed windows vista on my desktop but I really did not like the performance when compared to XP. Then I re installed XP and happy. I am yet to try about windows 7. Never installed. my friend has the CD, first I will get it installed and then let you know about its performance and behavior.

Many people say that performance of vista is low compared to xp but they don't take into account the minimum system requirements of vista. Vista has loads of grapical content and requires atleat 1.5GB(according to my calculations) for a decent performance. I enjoyed working on vista... it is faster at completing tasks compared to the time taken by xp. Vista has a lot of security as well which asks for permissions... many people see this as a nuisance and consider xp to be better. I am not saying xp is bad, I just want to say vista is good.

Yes, I agree with you. Compared to Windows Vista, which is Window 7's predecessor, it is much more stable and problem free. I upgraded to Windows 7 about three months ago, and I am really glad I did the upgrade or else I will still be stuck with Windows Vista, which made me very frustrated.

I just think that Vista is not a failure. It is used to let consumers have better feedbacks on Win7. Let's say if there is no Vista and only Win7 after WinXP. Maybe you will not feel so surprised about it. But thanks to the impact of Vista, Win7 has been paid more attention on. It is just my point of view=)

I upgraded from Vista Basic and found seeting up Windows7 very easy.It is much more user friendly than Vista in my opinion.Almost software i had already installed was compatible.A joy to use, Does not seem to be so memory hungry as Vista was,and start up and closedown quicker. And here is the bad things. System locks up, not able to move forward or back, I then must use task manager to close pages and restart task. Several software clashes that worked with XP and Vista. I was led to believe that windows 7 was to be a lot quicker, it's not. but still it is ok. Upon start up files are displayed that I don't need to view each time I turn on the machine.

windows 7 is very user friendly and is good for multimedia playing. although many people have problems understanding the way how windows 7 organised there multimedia files when they start using windows 7. although they get used to that after a while

Yes, seem pretty good. My mom has it and my brother is using Vista and I'm still using XP but I will most likely get Windows 7 with a new computer since it does look pretty good and starts quickly!

Yes Windows 7 is new, fast and better than Vista. It is full of features , it is reliable and uses less system resources compared to Vista. I have no idea about Windows 7 price but i guess it is also cheaper than Vista

I'm glad to hear that you're pleased with the new OS made by Microsoft. However, their biggest seeling point seems to be that side-by-side feature. Have you tried that? I myself am waiting until I save up enough money to get upgrades I need so I can continue to use my favorite programs.

Yes, you are correct. There were a lot of complaints about Vista that is why Microsoft made Windows 7. It is easier to use.

It has some new more interface intesive(but efficient) features that are more for the casual user, or the loser that could not understand vista. I like 7 but im more of a techie kinda guy and my modded vista suits me(altough 7 has great resource distrubution, my bros grfx card went from a 5.9 to a 6.5)
