I have been very lucky, I have never been let go/fired from any job I have had. I have had to quit a few due to moving to another state.
What was the job they let you go from, because of you being dependent on insulin, if I may ask?

The Company that let me go feeling I was not competant enough to be able to do the Job required was Fry's Electronics. I did not see eye to eye with one of the Supervisors, and she was always yelling at me, and never let me take Breaks, etc. even if I needed to check my Sugar. She seen me almost pass out in the Break room once, and said if I left to go home for the day, she would have to Write me up.
Actually, this was a Blessing in disquise to leave that job. I might not be working at the place I am today. But I hope the person I had the Conflict with (and she was only 19), does not have to eat her words someday.

Well, a lot of people do not understand Health issues such as Diabetes like they really should. It is a Shame too. It will be their loss for sure, and hope they are never faced with all I have to endure because of it. Then maybe they will think back to what I had to go thru.

I got let go because the assistant manager asked me to clock him out later than what he was supposed to. I was pretty ticked. That is when I worked for spencers. They suck because they play who can kiss butt the best and apparently me and the assistant manager were too buddy buddy for them.

Yes. I was fired for telling the truth about the City's Finances during the mayoral elections. It was my job to keep the financial records and the mayor was lying about them. It would have been illegal for me not answer any citizen's question about them. I told the truth and the mayor won his re-election anyway (but just barely) and he fired me the next morning.

Well, in a case like this, you should be Proud, as you told the Truth, and did what you felt was your God given duty.

At least that is nice. I was laid off from a job one time like about 12 yrs. ago, and then called back, but unfortunately, I did not have a way to get there, so I had to turn down the offer.

That is not right or fair for them to letting you go because of a robbery that you had no control of. How did you not meet the qualifications for that other job? What does being insulin diabetic have to do with being qualified or not? I have never been fired from a job or laid off. At least not yet anyways and hope not.

The one that let me go for too much $$ in my til. They have a policy which they adhere by. I think it is due to I was going to file for Crime Victims, or such, and they did not want to pay out.
On the one with the Diabetic issue, it was working for Fry's Electronics, and the job was Cashering. I had problems with my Sugars going to low, and not being able to keep them in check, and got moody, and did not see eye to eye with a Supervisor who was only 19, and got let go as they felt with my Medical needs, etc. I could not do a good enough job.

Thank goodness no, but I have had the same job for 10 years, I own my own business, so I have been lucky not to have to deal with a boss.

I am not sure what one this category fits into actually but I resigned from one job I had. My resignation had been written out but I wanted to explain my reasons to the Manager, so I handed him my resignation letter as I was telling him. As soon as I said I was resigning, he replied "nobody quits on me. You are fired and I want you out of the office NOW". He phoned the Personnel Manager to say I was leaving that day and my pay was to be made up now. He had nobody to replace me either, which made matters worse as it was a small office and we were already 2 people short.
Silly man because I spoke to the Personnal Manager and said what had happened. I had given a month's notice, which meant I had to be paid for that time as well as my holiday pay. In the end they asked me to stay till a replacement was found but I was reluctant, considering how rude the Manager had been. In the end I agreed to stay for 2 weeks but only after they offered me double the pay rate. LOL
The best thing, was that I already had a new job and was starting in 5 weeks. In the end I worked for 2 weeks at double pay, was paid out the remaining 2 weeks of my notice plus holidays due of course. The Manager was transferred to another branch of the Company and not put in charge of people.
So did I quit or was I fired? Whichever, I certainly came out the best financially and personally.

I haven't been fired from a job yet. I've quit a few jobs for various reasons. Someone at an two old job got fired because of me does that count? They both were harassing me every time we worked together

I was going to answer that question by saying no, I have never been fired but then I remember that I actually did get formally fired from a job when I was 17. I always laughed at it because the guy who fired me was my grandfathers brother and a very dear family friend :). The reason he fired me and rest of his staff was that he was getting old and ready to retire so he had to sell the business. The new owners wanted to do all the work themselves and hire their family members so everyone who had been working for him, some even for decades, had to be fired.
Apart from that I haven't been fired from a job and it's not likely that I will since I am by own boss and have been working for my own company for the last 12 years or so.

What a drag for you! Those are stupid reasons for firing someone. I worked as a manager in past jobs, responsible for hiring & firing and I never would have fired someone for that. Of course, with our labour laws I wouldn't have been able to anyway. Here an employee has to be written up twice, then the third time they can be fired. We can sue the employer for wrongful dismissal through the labour board otherwise. Do you have anything like that in the US?
I have never been fired myself as I have a strong work ethic (although if my boss caught me right now I would probably get a warning.....LOL, oh well, no work to do right now)
