Autism movie you should see

The name of the movie is "Mozart and the Whale" and it is available from Netflix. A high functioning youngish man with autism leads a support group for people who have different degrees of functioning and one day a woman with Aspergers joins.
The man's world gets turned upside down as he gets into a relationship for the first time with the woman who is rather gregarious and outgoing. Their struggles to make it as a couple are not unlike those of so-called "normal" people. I think everyone would recognize elements of themselves in these characters and realize most people are not nearly as healthy and "normal" as they think they are.

The movie is called Mozart and the Whale but it is not about the composer. If I were to explain it to you, it would give away the movie. You could probably watch a clip of the film if you go to IMDB(.com) and type in Mozart and the Whale.

I am not sure where you could find it in the Phillipines. Didn't you say your husband is a journalist? Maybe he could get it somehow through his job if one of you wrote a review of it.

It really is. The whole time I was watching it I was thinking this is just like everyone else I know, LOL. It made me think that all these so-called normal people might want to reassess!

You may want to watch it with your husband before you show it to your sons. It's a little mature because it is primarily about dating and the couple eventually moves in together.

you are online friend. this is a quick response. yes, based from the information you gave us, it's definitely me and my husband who will watch this and later the parents and teachers in my kids school.
i haven't seen a movie that tackles boy-girl relationship among persons with autism. i am happy that there's one now. i need some tips on here how we parents will handle this stage in our kids life. both of them are in the puberty stage and this will surely help me and my husband in dealing with it just in case this happen to them...to get attracted to someone and fall in love!

You are right, this is something that is going to be difficult for them as young men and for you as parents who will have to stand back and watch it happen once they become adults.
