I read from yahoo news that the terrible 8.8 earthquake that rocked Chile may shortened the days on earth, a NASA scientist disclosed that the massive earthquake, which is seventh strongest earthquake recorded in world history, may have changed the entire rotation of the Earth!
Gosh, this is somewhat startling and worth pondering. What do you think about this news?are you also alarmed?

I don't know if this would be entirely true. It could be that it the huge earthquake could have slightly changed the rotation of the earth, whether permanently or just for the day that the quake happened. Regardless of whether or not there is any truth to this at all, I don't think that the change (if there is one) will be something that we will actually be able to observe ourselves. What I mean is that if it was even as big as a second I don't think that we would recognize it.

This earth that we are living in, is aging. There is nothing that we can do at all to avert its pending end. It may take thousands of years yet till that final day. However, it can never be denied that the aging process of this earth, is being felt by each one of us, earth inhabitants.
Let us not therefore, be taken aback by all news like this one, which delves on the effects of the aging process that the world is going through. Instead, let us take the warnings which come out, like this one, as a clue on how to keep on living in this world coping with the changes that take place from time to time.
Events like the occurrence of the Chile earthquake, are all signs of an earth that is, not only have reached age, but is already past its best years. Just like a human being who is already past 40, the signs of aging set in.

Natural disasters are beyond us and not even scientists have a hold over them as is evident from the countless disasters that we have seen and read about. There is no point therefore in even talking about these disasters as we cannot even get ready or take prophylactic measure to contain them. So lets live one day at a time as well as we can.

I'm not too concerned. Based on what I've been told, it could take thousands of years for a noticeable differeance could be felt by those of us on Earth. And, to answer your question, no I'm not concerned. Natural disasters happen every day, and I don't think there is any reason why people should be. One millasecond, a measurment of time rarely used by the common human being is nothing to be concerned over.

Well, by 1.26 microseconds 0.0
Do you know how unnoticeable it is?

Even if we are dealing in microseconds, the effect may not be enough for us to visibly "notice." The real issue is how it effects the Earth on a Universal Scale. Those precious milliseconds could be the time necessary to throw us into the path of a major meteor shower, or just enough to spin our planet out of its orbit. We may never know how this will truly effect us but I do fear we are experiencing way too many major quakes here in the last few months. I don't rely on theories that 2012 is the end but there are powers at play greater than ourselves that are effecting our mother Earth.

I was told it lengthened it by 8 miliseconds... off the axis 8.8 degrees.
