Weird Theory about Lost The "if they never crashed" sideways flashback

Oh maybe this is getting into another dimension theory, but I often wonder whether the Sideways flashbacks was what really happened and the Lost never happened and it was sort of like a dream, for instance what I sometimes have if things have been different and I find myself someplace else. It is not a fantastic place, but something ordinary. It is in a different city, I live in a different house, et cetera et cetera. At least this theory is a little more palatable then the bad guys will win and the good guys will all die. I find that rather depression. I did notice in the first Sideways flashback that they fly over LOST Island and it is all under water. And that is rather upsetting when I consider that there were a few children there. The other is that this is like that Fringe where the writers say there are at least three different dimensions, and the Sideways is in one, the original Lost is in one, and the recent when they were switched forward to this time was a third one. So now I am getting confused. Howabout you?

Yep, I am completely LOST!!! It helps to watch the re-runs before the new episode because they explain things with that newsticker like thing on the bottom of the screen. I'm not sure if I like the flash sideways though. Plus I'm a little confused which LOST is the "real" time/life LOST. I'm sure it will all come together though. The writers meant for us to be in the dark.

We watch the reruns as well and our younger son comes over because his wife does not watch Lost. I do not like the flash sideways because when the show ends, we will have no idea whether the flash sideways was what really happened and Lost was just an illusion. I also hope that Jack and Hurley beat the bad guys and that the Others becomes good. (especially those two children) It was just that I remember when another show ended Andromeda, that the bad guys won then. in fact that year many shows ended badly. I do not want that to happen to Lost.

I am totally on your side. It would be an awful shame is LOST ended on a bad note. This needs a happy and satisfying ending with all questions answered. By the way, Andromeda was the Sci/Fi series with Kevin Sorbo??? That ended badly? How did I miss that?

Well Kevin Sorbo's character got back to his time and to his wife, but the others good characters were destroyed by the bad characters. Now it may have been an alternative future, but we had no idea if it was. I do want LOST to end with the evil Smokey vanquished, the evil influence on the island that kills all the good people (and has others get rid of the candidates) destroyed forever. I hope Jack becomes the new Jacob and that the curse on the Island is removed. It would be a good place for a vacation, by the way. I do not know how to resolve the two alternate time lines, but I wonder if suddenly the Island becomes visible to all.

Each season I have wracked my brain over what is going on. I've made guesses from the beginning. Read other people's theories. Chatted with co workers around the water cooler. But now that we are in the final season, I don't theorize anymore. A shame, I suppose since that's what made LOST so addicting. The questions, the guesses, the game. Now that I know only 8 more episode left before the final, I just sit back and enjoy for what it is. I guess in about two months time I will have all my answers. Hopefully. Such a shame this show is ending. But it lives as the only show in history to pick it's own end date, two years in advance.

I'm not lost(lol) watching Lost but I think that they dare not make it all just a dream. I and, I think, many fans would be unhappy with that explanation for everything. Even single episodes of shows where this has been done have not been well received by fans except in the case of some kind of medical necessity involving an actor.

I was all right until Jack decides that they had to make things right by throwing that atomic bomb down the hole. Oh and they get back to the present (Lost style anyway) but now the smoke monster in the guise of Locke kills Jacob and Richard's henchmen, kills that Japanese dojo master and his first, and gets most of the Others, Sahid, Ford, etc. to his side. Now if he had only left well enough alone.

hi suspenseful oh my I was really lost as I had no idea at first what you were talking about and knowing you are a very good poster I knew it had to have something to do with that Lost t v series. I never get a chance to watch it here at Gold crest as the old duffers get dibs on the control thing and sit there listening to old Bonanza reruns. I always liked the Lost thing but haven't watched it for a long time. Sounds like the new things on it are really a bit confusing too. Once they get into dimensions I too get lost. good luck.

We ran through the purgatory theory, the another planet theory, and now there is the other dimension theory. All I know is that my older son and I agree that the Smokey is a demon and he is evil. But my husband thinks that Smokey and Jacob are the same person broke up into good and evil ala Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. I do not think that works. So I am now thoroughly confused and it takes a lot to confuse me. I just hope it is not a dream ala Bobby's dream on Dallas.
