This year I decided to live a healthy life again. I started working out again and I just began my healthy diet. I am not really sure if its a healthy diet but I've minimized my in take of pork, beef, and chiken. I also minimized my intake of carbs. I replaced all this with fruits, vegetables and fish. So far the fruits I regularly eat are apple, watermelon, mangoes, and banana. I am still thinking of adding other varieties to these. I also eat vegetables every chance I get. I eat a lot of canned tuna which has no preservatives but I just read that it has high sodium content. I also replaced bread into wheat bread. The only bad intake I still have is coffee and beer. I regularly drink coffee and I drink beer during the weekends. Asides from the things I mentioned above do you have any suggestions on what healthy food I should eat? So far I have lost 4.5 lbs in 1 month working out and 2weeks with this diet. If you have any comments or advice in adjusting my food intake it will surely be welcomed.

I think that you are right on track. Try to increase your fruits and veggies to 9-11 servings per day. Make sure that you have a little bit of protein with each meal. It keeps you full. The only other comments that I would make is that you should try to work your way up to 8 glasses of water a day and include whole grains in your diet as well. When I'm trying to lose weight, I eliminate starches from my diet and the weight just falls off. Fiber is another important element and I just read that you should make sure that you have 34 grams of fiber every day. I'm glad to see that you are working out. Weight training is critically important to reduce your body fat percentage. Best of luck to you.

I'll take note on the 8 glasses of water and increasing my fiber intake. I'll try and increase my intake of fruits and veggies. So far I am only eating 5 servings of fruit together with wheat bread and tuna. Thanks for the advice LaurenInLA.

Count the calories as you eat. It’s a good idea to have an idea of the calories that most food items have. If it is a packed thing then the label is sure to have the calories that the substance has.

I like swimming, I used to go swim every two days. It is quite a exhausting exercise. Even you just stay in the pool for one hours without swim a lot, you feels hungry about that. Of course, you have to know how to control your diet after swim, don't eat too much :)

You seem to be on track. A couple of months ago I started eating like 5 or 6 times a day. And I lost weight but I wasn't exercising. I would eat a yogurt in the morning and then 2 hours later have a hard boiled egg with some toast and just kept eating every 2-3 hours. I did lose weight but since I wasn't exercising of course it did not stay off. I am looking to start back up to do that and add an exercise routine to it. Keep up the good work!
