I have noticed this since few weeks ago, almost every day, we experience brown out here in our area due to power shortage... and lately it was the root cause of the fire here... hardwares, malls, industries, though they were supported by generators for alternative power supply, they are still delayed by their major activities by this phenomenon and so every household who cannot afford to buy generators and only depends on the electric connection. I was so frustrated even this morning I set close to my pc when it suddenly died... have you also experience this in your area? Is this the sign that the nature has given human only a limited source never as bountiful as they did before?

Yes, a very good topic indeed, I also felt this thing which I think is only for the observers that now, it is not only in undeveloped countries but the boundaries are now off the limits. It is not only about the power shortage also, but most of the things are getting short all over the world. But coming to the point, power shortage is really necessary for every country, I really agree with you that it happens at most. It's all about global warming I guess!!:)

Thanks my friend... you are right... the boundaries of this phenomenon is now off limit... and many worst thing are happening as well... nonrenewable resources are facing its major challenge now that if we would not take some action, this would be gone and we would be left behind suffering... I don't know what place are coming from... but here in our area, power cuts are experience almost everyday... our main source of power is hydro-thermal energy, one of the root causes of this are deforestation resulted to global warming...
Welcome to mylot my friend... nice sharing....

You are so welcome my friend...
You are right my friend... it's not about the government at all, the concern here is the individual person... well, they could afford whatever they can to help them... but how about us? How about those less fortunate folks of ours? I am so sad my friend... our entire region now is suffering from frequent power cut... it is not once a week, It is everyday... everyday our work is delayed by this thing... You know I appreciate much your time here... I know this is not to late... Help me pray my friend to solve this...

Thanks for the warm welcome. I really appreciate those people that instead of writing useless articles, discuss those topics that are useful and informative for both of the parties. Knowledge is must, if we ignore these problems we will surely end up suffering. It is not just about the government of all countries, because it is not them who suffers the effect of the shortage, it is us. We think that we are playing no role in all these situation, but each and every single person matters a lot.
I think you and I, my friend, and most of the mylotters here in your post are good observers atleast and all we need is to think towards all these artificial or natural disasters and try to overcome it in someway or another. Thanks for the appreciation. Take Care

We don't go through power outages a lot. And if the power would go out I have plenty of candles and oil lamps for light. Normally are power doesn't stay out long. They work on things pretty fast around here. Other states and countries have gone though it to I am sure. But I don't know how often they go through it.

You must be from another country because we are in the winter season here. But spring is coming soon and can't wait. That is sad that you keep losing power there. You need it so food don't spoil and for cooking. Do you go swimming there when it is very hot out? They must have a lot of problems keeping the power up and running there it sounds like.

in one of the city here in Mindanao, Philippines, they are experiencing brown out every 9am and 8pm for 2-3 hours. and this is going to happen for 6 months.
as for me, i believe they are doing this because the election is coming. election will start this May, and they are doing this to let our automated election be interrupted.
we have sources of electricity, but because of not saving our resources. shortage will arise (intentionally or not)

Hi donna, happy to know that you are from Mindanao too... hate that news, I never heard that but if that is true... it's really a nightmare... here in our area, there is a power cut almost everyday for 1-3 hours... I've went to the mall yesterday.. really bad... and I went to the hardware... all their transactions are delayed... generators could not run their pcs, only the light and oh I hate the sound of it... well, I'm afraid that is their trick too.. we hope not... we hope it's only a shortage... oh... but both are nightmares of the people here, isn't it?

Yes... that is it... those who are selling generators could make a lot of money out of this... but we are concern to those who could afford, what about them? My neighbor told me it's about shortage...well I haven't heard the news yet... my brother's house was no light right this moment... their schedule is evening...

if people won't change their lifestyles then there's a bigger possibility that we will lose all our resources. it seems that individuals wouldn't be alarmed if they won't witness any severe destruction that would occur. here in Mindanao, we also have power shortage because we can no longer be dependent of our hydro-power plants. our water here is below critical level and if we won't conserve water, our lake will surely run out of water.

Hi eLsMarie,
I am from Mindanao my friend... maybe this is the start of this crisis... and we are so afraid of it... we know all that almost of our daily activities are dependent on electricity... How could we go on without this... lake are starting to run out of water, plus deforestation, if this would become severe, I don't know if we can still bring back our fresh abundant water back...

I think yes.
however here in India,Kerala, we are facing it.
Its the summer season here and the very hot summer dries up the water.
hydro power is our major power source and we have started facing power shortage due to the heavy summer.
but it will become more drastic in the comming month of april, because rain comes here only after the mid may

I do not know about the whole world, But here in India, yes, we face a lot of problem in load shedding of electricity. This is happening because of global warming. less flow of water in the rivers. Also natural source are not performing upto the expectations.

Hi my friend, I know a lot of nice Indian entrepreneur here in the Philippines... well, that would be a major reason too... global warming... imagine, 8 in the early morning is so hot already... compare the morning sun decade ago... plus deforestation and lack of tree planting... it could be a major cause, and if people could not save our forest, and prevent some causes of the warming of atmosphere such as smoke from factories and the like, then we would suffer at the end... but we hope we could now that it's not really to late...

ya you are absolutely correct, its very hot from the early morning.
after 3-4 years we will struggle to face the heat from early morning.
Now in the noon time its very very hot,we sweat a lot.
of course we should take action against global warming for our existance.

we are kinda used to it now. it is really annoying but as population is increasing as well as people are using more electronic stuffs, need of electricity supply is increased. it will become a major issue in future. right now in my city we are facing only 2hours a day but at my village, people are in dark for 12 hours a day. we are so much used to electronic stuff its hard to live without it.

Oh, that's really a problem my friend... but even you are used to it already, it can delay your work most of the time, am I right? Like here, I wanted to print my paper works, but no power, so I have to wait for the power to come back.... and you are right, this will be the major issue in the culture and maybe we will be paying a much higher bill in exchange of a limited power... and that is happening already here... very sad...

Yes, we have power outages. Ours are always caused by bushfires or storms, even high winds. In fact, last week we had two dsays of very strong winds and this brought down trees on powerlines. Luckily my suburb weasnt affected.
In a heatwave in January,. a sub station failed and we were without electricty for 8 hours. It was so hot, that I slept outside.
I suspect this will occur more often as the years go on, as most people couldnt afford their own generators.

Hi jenny... oh, I've heard about bushfires... that would be horrible my friend... and this is a sad fact to all of us... most our fellows could not afford generators... how could they proceed with their every day living with always power outages?.. here in the province, fire is the major result of power cut... due to faulty wiring specially squatters area... and most of the fire men could not rescue because the way is to narrow... they could get into the area... Storm, lucky our country has almost overcome by the storms here that hit the Luzon area are months from now... Winds... we are just thankful here that we are surrounded by high mountains that storms and strong winds could not damage our living... however we could not hide from global warming... this is the first time I experience that even the morning sun is very hot... more hot during afternoon... we suspected that this is the main reason of our power outages here... our hydro-thermal energy could not afford the entire city because the source is beginning to slow down because of tree cutting plus the global warming... this is very sad to us now my friend... malls reported that it is a decrease on their sales... though there is no decrease of the consumers percentage buying each they... but their cost of the generators had been rising...

Maybe what happen is just a start of shortage because of natural phenomenon I guess we can still experience it on the coming days. Right now, we are experiencing brown-out too and I'm so embarrass that I can't use my computer, probably I need to open it daily because of my goal and I need to earn as much as possible for the future...

You're right. And it's true! We do have limited resources. But we could have not let this happen. Our big mistake is we overuse mother nature and abused it BIG TIME.
But I'm not giving up. I know there is still hope. And we have a lot of chances to still make it right. So let us not make it go into waste and do our best to protect our planet.
How you can help?
1.Plant a tree.
2.Reuse.
3.Reduce.
4.Recycle.
5.Conserve Energy.
6.Buy recycled products.
7.Try using refills.
8.Eat lesser meat.
9.Help conserve and protect our forest.
10.Share this information.

Hi Bhemzky, thanks for coming in... You are right my friend, there is still HOPE... resources are starting to vanish now... only few left... but if we take this subject seriously and exert effort hand in hand, this might have given some little remedy... thanks for the tips my friend... I hope we could spread this news to many people around, not only here in the Philippines or in Asia but in the entire world. In our own little way we could help mother earth... and that is exactly what you have shared above... well let us spread the words...
