How many times have you bought or changed your mobile phone?

From the time you had your first ever cellular phone until now, how many times have you changed your phone? Did you buy a new one because you broke your old mobile phone or because you liked the latest version? I'm not much into technology, so I only bought a new cell phone when the old one got broken or was snatched by a thief. I've had 5 phones including the one I'm using right now. How about you? How many phones have you owned and why did you decide to buy a new one?

i cant recall how many times i changed my phone up to now. coz i used to changed them whenever theres a new model out in the market, that was during the time that i earned a lot from my work but when i lost my job i stop it already and when i lost my latest phone that was very expensive i learned my lesson and now im back to the basic mobile were theres no even camera and video in it and its only a gift anyway. since i dont really use it aside from calls and text messaging then i guess im already contented with it and no plan to change again.

I guess you were pretty impulsive back then. True, it's really tempting to buy the latest phone model because of the add-ons they have. But yeah, as long as you can call and text, that's what's important, right?

Buying a phone isn't cheep, and when I started to buy two at a time the situation became even worse. I think over the past eight years I've had about ten phones. And, the reasons varied. quite often it was because the previous phone was ineffective, or I changed providers. For the first few years, I bounced back and forth between providers until I settled on T-mobile. And, now I'm happy with them and only have to buy a phone when I need a new one. hopefully my existing phone will last me a while.

That's quite a lot of phones. Good that you've settled with your provider. Maybe the next time you'd have to change your phone is because your provider's giving you one because you're one of their long-time clients.

That's also one of only two reasons why I'd change my phone. It's a necessity nowadays so it's important to have one immediately. Thanks for responding!

Hi moonchild, I'm counting right now. .. my current phone is my 7th one. I start having my own mobile when I was 13, and the reason why I changed units is because I liked the latest version and I want to upgrade, and another reason is one of my phones got stolen so I need to replace it by buying another one. I frequently changed phones when I was younger, but now I'm 23, my current phone is 3 years old already. Despite the latest versions, I got tired of the fast-changing technology, there's always something new features, I can't keep up. I learned to be content with what I have, the important thing is, I can communicate with my loved ones and friends with my current phone. Though buying a new model won't hurt, LOL ;p

True, buying a new model won't hurt. I'm actually considering buying another phone as well, the one with a QWERTY keypad. Hehe!

I have really lost count as to how many phones I have had. I know it has been way to many that is for sure. I like to have the latest and greatest, but I have to start realizing that it can get way to espensive to do that. The one I have now, I have only had since August of 2009. It is just to soon to upgrade so I have to deal with it for now, but it isn't exactly the phone I thought it was, and it wont[' do exactly what I thought it would do. I will be upgrading soon though, and will get the one that will do what I want it to. I can access the internet, but it is slow in loading the pages and I am limited to what I can do with it as it doesn't have all the features I would want in a phone. Take care, and have a very good day.

I changed my cell phone when it's almost obsolete. Normally, it takes about 3-5 years I guessed. However, I normally buy those not so outdated phones and not the latest ones. It's too difficult to follow the trend of cell phones. It's too fast!!! :)

The 2nd phone i bought was a Sony Ericson phone which i lost during a Badminton game and the third one is a Samsung phone that came along with the post paid plan I have right now.

The cellphone I am using is only my 3rd phone because I only change my phone when it gets broken. I guess I can say that I am able to take care of my phone quite well because it usually takes years before my phone really conks out on me. For whatever reason that it becomes necessary for me to buy a new one, I would most likely choose a Nokia phone again.

All in all, I've had 7 cellphone changes, including the two phones I have now. The first time I changed a phone was just because of the fact that my mom didn't buy the model I wanted. She misheard the phone's model. My second phone was changed because it was a prize for graduating with honors in school, and so was my third phone. As for the the fourth one, it got stolen in school (college) and I went without a phone for a few weeks. The fifth phone, by stroke of luck I guess, my mom won in a raffle at a local grocery. But that got stolen at a praise and worship concert we had, too. So the one I have now are my sixth and seventh phones. The sixth was a birthday gift from my sister after my fifth one was stolen. The seventh one is a plan which I got for myself. And I promise, I shall not lose any of my phones anymore! Happy MyLotting!

I think I got a total of three phones since I had my first one which got snatched from my hand while I was texting. This happened several years ago when only a few people in our place owned cellphones and snatching was a problem. My second phone got lost and now I have my third phone which I actually got from my mother when she had a new phone.
