Injury from sports

I just got back home from school. I had only 1 class today, physical education (badminton). While we were playing, I got my right ankle sprained. It was really painful since it's my first time to have an injury like this. Then the thing is, I am driving an there's no one to pick me up so I had to drive home using my sprained foot.
How about you guys, were there any injuries you've experienced in the past because of sports?

OH yes! When I was in school I had a problematic right ankle. The very first time I sprained it I was actually in 5th grade, and I jumbed out of a tree and landed on it wrong. I was on crutches for weeks. It has never been the same after that and I am 26 now! I played basketball and it gave me a lot of trouble then..I always had to wear some sort of brace..not a brace..can't think of the word..a tight sleeve like thing. But I re-sprained it doing the exact same thing as you...badminton! Oh my goodness it hurt so bad.. I jumped up and landed in a hole and my ankle just went "flump" over to the right... I was supposed to wear a brace for 2-3 months.. but I only wore it for about 1 because I hated being restricted. I don't play as much sports these day but I still have to be careful. Make sure that you do as well because from now on it will probably be weak.

Omg, you jumped off from a tree? How high was the tree? That must have been really painful. Was your right ankle got fractured? What an experience you got here. This is my first time and I promise myself to be careful next time. I love playing sports. I've been playing volleyball since high school (around 8 years now) and this is my first time to experience sprained ankle because of badminton. I am also in crutches now... And I can't move around... I hate this. Oh well, better be careful next time :) Hope you're doing fine with your right ankle :)

Lol.. yes, the tree was pretty darn high. My friend and I was supposed to do it at the same time. Except I wanted to do something more 'dangerous'.. so I spun in the air before I hit the ground but I didn't make the full spin so my ankle turned. It make me cringe to think about it. It's a bad kind of injury though ..hope that you heal fast!!

I suffered a very severe ankle sprain a few years ago playing hockey. My ankle was so swollen the next day, I couldn't get a shoe on. When I went to the doctor, he told me severe sprains are worse that breaking a bone, not really sure why. A week or so later, I was free from limping. Every once and a while, the ankle still aches a bit though.

Severe sprain? whoa.. it really sucks when you can't walk. Now I'm stuck here at my room because I can't go anywhere without crutches. I had to limp all the time.
