Oh this is so sad. I lost a cat a few years ago. The thing I remember is that it was Derby Day and Smarty Jones one but it wasn't any fun for me because Patches always sat in my lap to watch the derby and she wasn't there that year.
You should be about ready for another cat. I had Patch's brother when she passed. But he was so lonely that we had to get him a friend. So we were forced to get another cat fairly quickly and I'm glad we did.

Losing a pet is difficult on anyone. I wish you luck in dealing with your greif, but its been a few years. You need to try to move on. I'm not saying forget your pet, but try not to dwell on losing it. It can be hard, but I've lost quite a few over my lifetime. I remember them all, and I only allow myself to greive for a short while and then try to get through it.

sorry for that but we should also remember that cats do not live forever or at least not as long as humans do. The Breeder of my 2 British Shorthair cried when she turned over the kittens to us. She was so sad that her husband bought her a new Blue-point kitty. It saved her tears.
