I have a friend who always catch a cold. Every time the weather changes, she also catch a cold. What's even worst is when she catches a cold, she gets the flu and she's really very sick. Last year, she got sick like many times. This year, we are already in the beginning of the third month and she's sick again. Thinking about her condition made me think about the last time I got sick. Well, believe it or not it was a year ago already. I got the flu at that time. I think I got sick at that time when it was so cold in my home town that my body seems to fail to adjust with the temperature. When was the last time you got sick and what happened to you? What was the cause of your illness?

The last time was during the Christmas season, I guess it was the weather, and I had cough and colds for almost 3 weeks, and it was during the Christmas and New Year holidays, so it was not really fun for me. I easily get sick, that's why last year, I had 12 sick leaves from the office. I usually get cough or cold, and most of the time I have dysmenorhea which I really hate the most.

I think we all have to blame it on the weather. I think we seldom get sick if the weather is warm but if its cold then we get sick most of the time. I didnt get sick last Christmas and I find myself lucky. There are I guess different causes that's why we get sick but most of the causes are the changes in the weather condition. Maybe it has something to do with the bacteria carried in the air. I dont know but maybe.

Good for you. I actually I think spread the virus in the office, and after the holidays are over, all of us had colds already. oopps.

In the past two months or less, we have no rains falling here. We have a very high temperature and the sun always shines. They said Summer is almost around the corner but the weatherman says, this is still El Niño phenomenon. I work in an air-condition office and I have to go out at lunch time. With sudden change of temperature, my body sometimes can't control. Today, I have headache and I seem to be getting an earlier rest tonight. Right now, I really feel sleepy, my eyes are tired, but I still have two more hours to work.

i wish i can also eat in the office so at least i don't have to sacrifice getting to the hot weather but i have to eat at home with my honey and the kids. i also have a daily routine at the bank at noon time, rain or shine.

I think El Niño phenomenon comes with summer. I dont like it, we have to suffer the heat because of El Nino. That's the same situation that I have here, I work in an office that has air conditioning and I thought that if I would have to go out then that means my body would have to adjust with the sudden change in the temperature, so what I do now is just eat my lunch in the office. And I also take a nap because rest is also important to stay healthy.

I think I got sick only last month. I get sick often. That's why I always take vitamins to strengthen my immune system. I get irritated when I'm near people who cough and sneeze without covering their mouths because I know that my body is not strong enough to resist the viruses and germs.

If you always get sick just like my friend then I guess you really have to take vitamins. I dont usually get sick but I still take vitamins and other supplements. They are actually very helpful. I understand how you feel when people would cough and sneeze without covering their mouth. This afternoon, I was in the supermarket to buy some meat and I was also annoyed at this one man maybe he's already over 50 years old and he cough right in front of the display of meat and he didnt cover his mouth. He even did it many times. It was annoying and it was disgusting.

You're pregnant? Wow! That's really great but I'm sorry to hear about the morning sickness and other ailments you're having right now. I think it has something to do with the physiological changes in your body since you are pregnant. I have an officemate here who's also pregnant and she always control herself every time there is an urge to throw up. I dont know how she does it but she said, its mind over matter.

I'm sick at the moment. It's not that bad, I have no feaver but I don't feel well at all. I know it will only take a few days at home for me to recover. And the reason of this cold is only one - my foolishness. It's been a nice warm day few days ago and I decided that i don't need to wear winter coat anymore..will wait for the proper spring to come, to put it away this time..

I hope you're feeling much better now. It has been hours that I posted this discussion and I am thinking now that you're feeling much better already. Just be careful nest time with the proper clothing that you need to wear. Most of the illnesses that we have these days are due to the sudden change in temperature.

Does it always happen that you get sick if there's an important school activity? That's funny, I wonder why it is related to the condition that you have of getting sick and going to a school activity. Its really funny. Maybe it has something to do with anxiety attack.

Wow! That's really great because you dont have to worry about catching a codl every time. I think you are very lucky because you dont usually get sick. I dont know if you always keep yourself healthy to avoid getting sick or your immune system is just really strong. What ever the reason is, its a good thing to be healthy.

The last time I got sick was just two weeks ago. I have a painful swollen lips. I don't know what's the root cause of it but I can't barely enjoy my meals, can't speak and feel so conscious about how I look. I'm so glad that it all gone by now. I just have to take antibiotics as prescribe by my doctor. That sickness made me feel week and it ruin my daily habits (exercise, food I love to eat, etc).

Swollen lips!? Omg! What happened? Could it be an allergic reaction. Was it itchy or just painful? Anyway, I'm glad to hear that you are better now. Maybe next time you ought to be more careful with the food that you eat. Maybe that was the cause of it. I guess the doctor didnt tell you what went wrong with you but anyway, it better prevent than cure.

I don't usually got sicked, and so far the last time I can remember that I got sicked was 2 years ago. I don't knew why, I don't think if it's abnormal. I experience bad flu but it won't last to me like 2 to 3 days and it's gone. It's pretty weird but I'm very thankful for what I'm experiencing...

Two years is a long time. That's really good because you dont have to worry about getting sick. I dont think its abnormal too. I think your immune system is also strong. Its a blessing to be healthy and not get sick all the time. Do you do something to stay healthy or you're always been like that? What are your secrets to stay healthy and not get sick?

I consider myself as a healthy person and I rarely get sick. About once a year, I guess. The last time I got sick was August of last year. I thought it was just an ordinary sore throat but it accompanied with fever for a few days. I also had difficulty swallowing and eating. It was the worst experience for me, coz it's too painful to swallow or even talk. When I consult with a doctor, it turned out I had "acute pharyngitis", a worse sore throat and inflammation of my pharynx. He prescribed me with antibiotics and it did the trick. I wouldn't forget this sickness coz I'm really in pain and can't eat and talk.

My sister is a teacher and she always have pharyngitis every semester. The doctor said there were two causes for it. One was that she was always talking and talking and her throat gets dry. Another reason is irritation from in her airways due to the chalk dust. She always take antibiotics too. She also cant speak and she had fever.

I got sick last week. My stomach acted up and I was always rushing to the bathroom. It was like I wanted to vomit but nothing is coming out. I think I ate something that is already expired or was not prepared safely plus the fact that it is so hot right now. I just went ahead and took bioflu so I can get better. The next day I am up and running again as if I never got sick :P

I wonder, do you always skip meals and dont eat on time? I think cases like that happen if you dont eat on time and always skip breakfast. It is also not good to drink ice cold carbonated drinks if you experienced something like this in the past.

I hope you are going to be well for the whole year this year. I was also well last year too except for some minor colds and sore throat. I hope all of us will be healthy for the whole year round. Its good you are taking multivitamins, I am too. I am actually taking some food supplements.

I used to get sick with a cold or flue fairly often. First I tried immune support, vit C and such and found that had only limited effectiveness. This past year I tried using a neti pot for the first time. I have not gotten a cold or flu since last July. So, I am a believer! Washing hands a lot really helps too.

It is always important to wash our hands. Washing our hands is the best way we can do to protect ourselves from all those diseases around us. The best duration of time we should wash our hands is for more than 20 seconds. If we cant wash our hands then we should always bring a disinfectant with us.

Its a good thing not to be sick for a long time. 6 months is already a long time. I see you have problems with your throat. I wonder if you have ever tried ginger tea. I always helps for me. I drink it when its hot with a little honey and lemon. It gives me fast relief, maybe you want to try that too. And drink plenty of water when you have sore throat.

But good thing you're okay now. It has some thing to do with the changes in the weather that's why we always get sick. My husband would catch a cold especially if it is very hot during the day and cold during the night or dawn. Just drink plenty of water all the time and take some vitamin C.

Oh,My lotters, its a very frequent phenomenon these days, due to change of season, pollution, specially in big cities, stress, strain, life style, weakens the immune system and you are victim of many diseases,I got sick just 2 weeks before and again now I am having cold sore throat, fever, headache, making everything irritating, what do you say friends, what should we do to prevent this happen again and again?Isnt it this type of sickness has become so frequent.will tonics, supplements, ayurvedic mixtures will help?

What you mentioned in your response are definitely the main reasons why a lot of people get sick. A few months ago there was this outbreak of the A(H1N1) all over the world and I think air pollution has something to do with it too since it is airborne. Headaches are also very common if the temperature is always rising. I guess the best way for us to protect ourselves from these illnesses is take some vitamins especially vitamin C and plenty of water.

I believe in those magic weapon of yours. I started exercising again a few days ago. I exercised before but I wasn't able to continue doing so. Now I have started again and I hope I will be able to do it. One of my friends told me to try taebo when I exercise and I am going to do that later. I just feel so good to be healthy.
